  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Engine had 30 second hiccup today. Got off a freeway ramp and the engine/car was shaking at idle with a flashing check engine light. Went away without me doing anything. Traffic light turned green and it had stopped. I drove off and it was normal and has been ever since. CEL never stayed on. ??

A Flashing engine light is generally BAD, becouse that would be an indication of engine misfire resulting in potentially physical damage to the engine or the exhaust components!

This can attributed to what you have described as "engine/car was shaking", I would get the engine checked by a competent dealer without delay!

Just my two cents...

I had this happen upon immediately starting the car. This was after a short startup and shutdown the day before. Never had it happen when the car was fully warmed up as you did.

My guess is that if you take it to the dealer, they won't find anything. I might be wrong.... Let us know when you find out.

BTW - Headed south for the winter? - We are leaving for the Bahamas for 3 months in Late December......

My car was fully warmed up, so I think it's a different problem.

We'll do 2-3 trips of a couple of weeks each this winter. West coast of FL. We have too much going on, and my retirement has been an utter failure. I'm busier now with multiple projects than I have been the last three years.

What ever became of this? Sounds very similar to what just happened to me last night. Car was towed to the dealership today. I'm quite worried.

What was you final diagnosis?

I am having very similar issue.

Amazing that I logged on and saw this at all! Been years. So after MANY dealerships replacing the same 02 sensors time after time after time, and not knowing why... One dealership in Halifax finally figured it out. It was an OIL CONTROL VALVE leaking oil all over the sensors. Once that was replaced, I never had any engine lights or rough running again.

I must have spend over $1000 running in circles on that issue. Thinking back, I even had one prior tech tell me "It looks like oil on your 02 sensor... maybe the last tech put oil on it?!".. oh my God....

do u know witch O2 sensor it was it might be helpful to anyone needing to replace or check it
