  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

New Official 1/4 Mile Thread

Took the car out beginning of February. Still dialing it in but good to get a new baseline. This run was using 100 octane race gas instead of cpi or wmi. 11.35 @ 122.45 mph

Must feel good!

Love the dash too

Thanks. I'm always happy when I'm driving that car. I love that dash!

Believe it or not, the car still wasn't "right", my CEL was on. That 60-130 was substantially slower than my best (8.93 autoshifted), so the car was pulling power. Checked the infamous cylinder 3 and found that the gap and been blown to .035. Spoke with a few people that I trust and they also let me know that not shifting is lowering my trap speed. I knew it would ruin my time, but I did not know it could affect the actual mph. Was good to learn. That road is winds also, not sure if you can see it in the video.

All in all, I was happy that she ran strong.

So in your case..

If I'm understanding this correct, it's saying the shift points are as seen in the first set of numbers?

If so, that's not going to work for fast times.

1-2: 6100
2-3: 6100
3-4: 5700
4-5: 5400-5700
5-6: 5400-5800

What's proven is more like the following.

1-2: 4800
2-3: 5000
3-4: 5300
4-5: 5600
Well, that's where the accurate dyno data comes in. We'd also have to allow for the lag between human reaction times, and how fast the transmission responds.

Clarification, please: The RPM's you're quoting, is that the RPM when you pull the paddle to initiate the shift?

Yes

First attempt with the Lozic Tcu, pretty happy with the results and i'm confident it's more in her, I let off a little early before the 1/4 mile mark...Also this was JB4 map 3

I think if you can get a flatter road, your time will improve. One thing I've noticed on these cars however is that from the 1000' mark to 1/4 mile, the vehicle only tends to pick up another 10-11mph. It's also usually 1.7 to 2 secs (depends on how much power your car has) to complete 1/4 mile just in case you're on a pull where you don't make it to the 1/4 mile mark and wonder what it most likely would have ran.

absolutely I agree...I usually use the same stretch of road to keep it consistent,I've had faster trap speeds in the 1/8 mile but here lately my dragy doesn't like valid run on 1/4 mile times...

There’s more left on this setup. Less spinning the AS tires or a better surface(side of the highway in MX, dirt, rocks, ect), and 1/4 tank of gas would get me lower. 1767 DA.

Happy overall for the basic setup.

Just get that 60ft down to 1.65 and you will shave 3/10ths just from that.

Thank you. I definitely need to work on that. I should have a better time here soon.
