In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. 2010 Price Paid

I paid $38,000 for my 4.6 Tech in May. There is no way you should be paying that much for 3.8 with tech. Wait until next month when the 2011's hit the street and see if they are willing to deal.

Has anyone gotten a list of the qualifying "competitive vehicles" for the $1500 rebate. It seems like every dealer I've talked with has a different answer, i.e. some offer the rebate to me immediately, others indicate that I don't own any cars that qualify (Subaru Legacy, Honda Odyssey, Porsche 911).

Does California have higher price of Genesis than other states? I got quotes from few dealers in Los Angeles area and the best price I have is $39.7K for 2010 model with 4.6 + tech package - which is almost $2K higher than $38K paid by "DubaiRich".

i noticed that dubairich is in oregon. there might be other factors, but my guess for the lower price is because oregon has no sales tax...

I don't think sales tax is a factor here. If I recall correctly, Oregon does not have a sales tax and the price I have received is before tax price.

I am interested. How do I join this plan? Any websites? Thank you!

$38k+ in white plains ny thru Hyundai circle plan after joining the Hyundai think tank. No negotiation, easy as pie

Me too, how do I join to get Hyundai Circle pricing.

Capital Hyundai, San jose, CA called me today and went down a bit on the price for 2010 V6 with TECH PKG. $36,300 + tax - $40,500 OTD. MSRP is $41,895.

As a Hyundai dealer in Texas:

If you own any vehicle registered in your name, other than a Kia, you qualify for the $1500 Competitive Owner Rebate. It currently applies to the 2010s and 2011s. Thus, you can purchase a 2011 for the same money as a 2010.

Thanks for the response.

From Two dealers the best I could get is $41K out the door for 2010 V6 with tech pkg. MSRP is 41895.

Thinking of waiting one more month by then Hyundai offers comp owner coupon on '11 genesis.
Valued Owner Coupon is currently offered on the 2011s in Texas. Thus, as I stated in a previous post, you can buy one for the same money as a 2010. I don't know why it wouldn't currently be offered in California as well. Further, $37k is about as cheap as you can get a V6 with Tech, but I'd buy a 2011 for the money. You can get a V8 for about $2k more, and it'll retain much more of it's value 4 or 5 years from now than the V6.

I'd ship you one if registering in California wasn't such a pain in the ....

Selling 2011 V8s for $39,045, I make about a thousand Dollars. Thus, I would encourage you to offer them $37k for a 2010 or $38k for a 2011. Because of carrying costs, availability, etc., I wouldn't sell either for that, but you don't have to tell them that. Tell them their competitor down the street is offering them for that and they'll probably get as close as they can afford. Dealers hate the idea of their competitor getting their sale.

Wow. Great Price. That was almost a year ago. My friends and I tried but couldn't get below 41K. I bought in June. Did get about a thousand dollars of options with it. Asked around a lot and no one we asked could get under 40K. Do you think it may be more difficult to get that price today as demand as probably increased since then?
Out the door depends on state sales tax. I.e., Oklahoma has 2.3% sales tax, Texas has 6.25% and California has something like 1 million percent sales tax. Thus, OTD isn't an accurate comparison. Incentives have increased on Genesis sedans this year; there's currently about $6200 in margin on a V8 with Tech, including the $1500 VOC; thus, $37500k sales price is feasible, though some dealers will refuse to sell for that.

2011 V8 Sedan pricing looks like this:
43835 MSRP
40787 Invoice
1291 Holdback
500 Earnback
1500 VOC

Thus, true triple net is 37,496. Most dealers won't sell for that, but it doesn't hurt to ask.

Thanks for sharing this information. Its really helpful.

Can you please share same data for V6? I will wait for Sep 1st by then CA dealers should offer comp owners coupon on 2011. As you said I will go for 2011.

V6 with which package? The V8 doesn't have any packages any longer; all come with tech pkg. However, the V6 still has several optional packages. Margin, MSRP, etc. vary by package.

V6 with Tech PKG
$2000 difference in MSRP; $1600 difference in dealer cost. Thus, about $5800 in total markup, including $1500 VOC, in the V6. As before, few dealers will take a nothing deal on one of these cars, as the supply is restricted at the moment by problems in South Korea. However, dealers always like to cut each others' throats, so there's probably some out there that will take nothing deals. Thinking back, I had a customer that flew to Texas from California last month and drove their Genesis sedan back; thus, maybe the $1500 VOC really isn't available yet there. Seems odd that Hyundai would do something stupid like that, but I think the separate regions are virtually autonomous.

I just paid $38000 for a new 2010 4.6 with Tech package and all 3 options (MSRP of just under $44,000) in Pearl White with Cashmere which I thought was a pretty good price here in California (although I did a lot of research and ended up getting it from a dealer 4 hours away as I was very picky on the color choices). Although I have only had it a week I absolutely love it. GREAT GREAT car for the money. Sounds like I got a decent price.

Thanks NHParks, I wish I was closer to Texas and you'd have my business, just for being a straight shooter!

On 2 August 2010, I paid $38000 in Baton Rouge for a Genesis 4.6 w/Tech (+ipod cable/wheel locks) after rebates...sticker price $43885. I received $17200 on trade of a 2008 Honda Accord EX-L 4cyl Auto w/21K miles, also without argument. Some discussion but no real haggling, and dealer essentially offered a Silver/Black w/Tech he had on the lot for $500 less - he had to go out of town for the Titanium/Black I wanted. Nice dealer, effortless deal, and they saved me the time of traveling much farther for this deal by essentially matching the offers I received out of Texas. The car is fantastic, attention to detail is outstanding, speed is hypnotic, and the wife loves it! Great car outright and super bang for the buck!!!
