If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

It’s already a nice ride but I am thinking about changing from 21” rims to 19” strictly for more tire wall and comfort. Any comments from someone who has made the switch? I would like to know if it’s noticeable and worth the $2500. Also if I did the change I would have my 21”rims available to sell for anyone interested in Los Angeles. Perfect condition and only 3000 miles on them. I’ll give you a better price than if I put them up on eBay.

Perfect, so you think the comfort gain is worth the $3000? How was the handling after? I very rarely drive it hard, I mostly sit in traffic back and forth to work lol. I will gladly sacrifice some handling for extra comfort. Thanks!

First, it didn't cost $3,000. Second, no downsides. It's an improvement in ride comfort, mileage, handling and noise... and to me, looks.

Does the GV60 speedometer/odometer match up with the new rims/tires?

Very nice, just need to pick a set and get them installed next week. Thanks for the input!

Not 100% sure what you mean, but the overall diameter of the new tires is almost identical to the OE's. So any difference should be minimal.

So nice looking, Very nice touch! I’m in Los Angeles, I’m definitely going to sell my 21s if the improvement is as nice as you say
Well, I'm just one person saying this. And you'd have to take my word for it, and you don't know me from Adam. But one thing you can judge for yourself is the looks of them. I think they look so much better than the wheels my Advanced came with. But that's all a matter of taste.

The mileage difference is quantitative. Before the change, with my driving style, I was getting about 245 mi / 100% SOC. Now I'm getting about 265, driving in the exact same manner, and the exact same routes.

As for the difference in sound, with these new tires, the only thing I hear on a good road is wind. They are, to my ears much more quiet than the OE tires.

I'm not really one to push the limits of the car, in terms of handling, but it's as least as taught and planted and secure as the OE's .. maybe more so. And to me, on the same roads, the ride has definitely improved. As I mentioned to another poster, the vibration from the rain grooves on the freeway (580) is virtually gone. Another plus.

Just a guess of course, but I would think that you would notice an even greater improvement going from a 21" down to a 19. My OE's were 20".

That was my question.

One more quick and very picky thing...
If you go this route, aside from black locking lug nuts, get yourself some good metal valve covers. I bought both of these, and they're both excellent (I prefer the plastic lined ones, but the others are the identical color to the wheels.

Thanks for all the tips, I’m excited to try this out. I will post here when I get the new ones installed and go for a ride!

I hope you have a good place to get this done. It cost me $2,300 for everything including moving the TPMS's, and the lug nuts.

Any recommendations of shops in the Bay Area? Judging by your pics on the other thread, over in the East Bay?

I can highly recommend the shop where I got mine done. Orinda Tires and Wheels. They are conscientious and extremely accommodating.
They do very good work, and left the car clean! No greasy marks inside. Tiny place occupying the two garages on a 76 gas station.

I finally got the 19" rims on. Got them through tire rack, they came to work to install them for me. Super easy to pick and order, they look great and they smoothed out an already good ride. Thanks for the help.

I now have a perfect set of 21" performance rims and tires (2000 Miles on them) for sale in Los Angeles if anyone is interested. Going to put them up on Ebay for $2200 (The cost of my new set) but I would sell them cheaper to someone on here for $1800 (I will even ship them for you). The installer put regular valve stems in them but they are missing the TPMS because he moved them over to the new set.

Congrats. Smart looking wheels. To me, much nicer than the OEM wheels.
What kind and size tires did you opt for?
