  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Hi Guys I just bought my dream car a 2020 G80 sport over here in Ontario, Canada. I will appreciate any and all advice from owners especially regarding best tires for comfort as well as winter rims and tires that are not staggered. Thanks all in advance!

Look into a catch can! I have have one on my 5.0 and it catches a lot of blow by especially in the winter! For winter rims make sure you get the right offset the front brakes are huge and won't clear certain rims.

A 21 Kia Forte but I have a Toyota Highlander too.

The Forte is nice but the G80 is a big upgrade. I've always like the Toyota Highlander as well. :)
Haha I totally agree Sal. I bought gas once a month with the forte. Lol. I am just trying to get the continental extreme contact all seasons to replace the oem tyres but still not sure who has best tyre prices in Ontario, Canada.

Looking for a softer, quieter ride with the new rubber?

Yes! Am all about the comfort and actually do not like harsh rides at all. Any advice on comfort, luxury and cruising will be appreciated😁

I know what you mean. I miss the old days where you had big, powerful, luxurious cars... Lexus used to do a decent job at this, though their cars usually lacked power for the segment... Now that brands like Cadillac and Lexus have decided to chase after BMW (which has, itself, decided to chase after traditional luxury - to an extent), it left a big hole in the market to be filled by our beloved Genesis brand...

The one thing Genesis has working against it is the necessity of BIG WHEELS. Unfortunately, smaller wheels are an afterthought as far as designs go. So if you want their nice wheels, you need to select their 45" design - which, of course, make for a firmer ride than say, 16 or 18 inch. If you want that nice, quiet, plush ride, switching to aftermarket wheels with a smaller circumference will make the biggest difference.

I completely understand why you may prefer to keep the current wheels. We used to say "the wheels make the car"... In that case, as you know, tires are the next best area for improvement. I'm not up to date on what's best at this point, but perhaps you can let us know about any noticeable improvement after you replace yours.

I really appreciate your insights and could not agree more. I do not know what is going on with luxury cars trying to be more sporty these days. The aesthetics are ok but the firm ride is a no go for me. I am definitely interested in aftermarket wheels with the smaller circumference but guidance on where to get them and specific dimensions has always been my challenge but I will definitely report back on any improvements I find. Thanks once again for the warm welcome Sal.
