I was just at my local dealer, he said that the next release for the Genesis 2012 should be Jan. or Feb. 2011. He suggested I wait to see if the 12 will have the 8 speed transmission and maybe some other options.
So would you rather have a Hyundai 8-speed transmission, or a ZF or Aisin 6-speed transmission? ZF transmissions are used by BMW and Aisin by Lexus (among others).I was just at my local dealer, he said that the next release for the Genesis 2012 should be Jan. or Feb. 2011. These days (unlike years ago), cars that have moderate to signifigant changes from the prior model year are released when they are ready and not according to a normal schedule. The Genesis refresh was not ready for the fall 2011 model year release, so it will come out when it is ready to go.Wow Jan or Feb 2011. That is kinda early isn't it.
I believe everything I read on the internet, and what dealers tell me. <grin>
Obviously there are still 2011 models available right now. The 2012 model has not been released yet (and will not be until at least early next year). It doesn't sound right to release the 2012 model on the first or second month of 2011, with so many 2011, 2010 (and even some 2009) models still on the dealer's lot I just can't see the 2012 model coming out that early.

I usually keep cars for 10 years or so. I'll be waiting for the 2020 model. We'll see if I'm still drawing breath by then...
I'm waiting for the 2015 Model as well. In the meantime I bought a 2011 Genesis.![]()
