If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

I started the thread 'Is the Genesis OK?' a few days ago and it's developed a life of its own.

Today I took a test drive of a V8 Genesis and I got to drive it on some roads with turns.

Wow.

I'm sold.

Now it's down to colors... Does anyone have pictures of the car in Blue?

This was the picture that was most helpful to me. It shows the blue, Gray, Silver and Black all next to each other. I chose the Titanium Gray. This was posted by Jwaters

This is tough. The blue isn't very blue, is it? The gray is fine, but that's the color of my BMW. The silver is what I drove today-- very nice but boring... and my wife's lexus RX is silver.

I don't want black... too hard to keep clean and it gets up to a zillion degrees here.

Maybe the Red-- anybody have a picture of that?

It does look good in white, also, but isn't that a 'chick' color?

Found the red on the web... not my favorite either. Hmmm

OMG !! They stole my car back from me....them bastages lol...I opted for the Sterling Blue with the tan leather interior. Definitely loving my Genny. It beats anything I have owned before hands down in overall quality and amenities..........Congrats on your new Genesis and welcome to the family :welcome:

The only thing I disagree with is their stripping it down so much for the US market by taking away the Air Suspension, Lane Departure Warning System, Blind Spot Monitoring System, Mood Lighting, and the panoramic rear view camera system. They should have left them available (you never take away safety features). The air suspension, mood lighting and panoramic camera systems should have been offered as options for our market if the customer is willing to spend the $$.....just my 2 cents, but beyond that still love the car :)

Red is the best and also I think red ones are a little faster and get better fuel economy.

No, black is best because it is both fast and economical, and also you get to spend a lot more time with it keeping it looking sharp. .:D

It would have been nice to be able to equip your car with a selection of these options. The reality, however, is that it would have been an inventory nightmare to try and predict what exterior color, interior color, wood trim, package and option combination to send from Korea. As it is the 4.6 now comes only one way and the available colors have been reduced making inventory simpler. BMW allows a wide range of options and car ordering if you want to wait 2 months and pay the BMW premium pricing. Even trying to find certain color combos can be difficult. When I got mine, there were no red with black leather 4.6 Tech pkg cars in the entire southeast. Luckily one was located on a boat coming to port and with the help of Hyundai corporate it was sent directly to me. I even have my name on the Moroney sticker which is really cool. Regardless of the lack of certain options however, the car is fabulous.
It was claimed that in the 1960's, Chevrolet could build over a million different combinations of Impala without making two the same due to the massive option list and color choices, I don't think Hyundai is prepared for that.

Isn't red also cheaper to insure and maintain? LOL

The blue in that picture looks like the Sterling Blue Metallic. There is also a Sapphire Blue Pearl that looks much deeper blue. Check out the Hyundai website for colors. You can also find decent pictures on some dealer sites by searching their inventory. BTW I am hoping to do my test drive this weekend, can't wait.

The Sapphire Blue is a GREAT color, it was my first choice, but there were none to be had in the V8 anywhere around :( I don't mind though, the black is hot too ;) The pictures online don't give the Sapphire Blue justice, you'll have to see it in person to appreciate it, it is definitely a deep blue if that is what you are looking for.

Steve J, the Sapphire Blue Pearl is a great color, but just as difficult to maintain as the Black Noir Pearl. I live about 100 yards from the Atlantic Ocean. Just try keeping anything clean. What I have found is that if you have a really high gloss finish on the black car it shines right through the little bit of salt spray, sand dust, road film, etc. I have had the same results with a bright red car in this environment.

There are many fine high-tech finishing products out there today. See this thread: <http://www.genesisowners.com/hyundai-genesis-forum/showthread.php?t=5627> I happen to use a product called Zaino. Everyone has a favorite that works for them.

I really like our white with saddle. Definitely not a chick color (though my wife likes it too).
Up close, the pearlescent shows, further out it is just a great color.
Our BMW was silver and we needed a change.

Agree with Malfred. White Pearl hides dirt & road rash best and sure looks great all cleaned up.
My previous 4 out of 5 cars were black- love them, but in NE salt, sand- any pit or chip is magnified. Plus the cashmere interior is saweeet!

White with saddle right herrrrrrr!

Sapphire blue with cashmere is pretty tough to beat in my opinion. I will have some pics posted in the next couple of days... but check these out:

Yeah, it is kind of hard to keep clean--but when it is, it is striking.

I guess there are two different blues. I like this one.

As for the interior, where I live it gets to 110 F most summers. Black isn't an option in my book.
