If anyone was wondering the panels will fit in our trunks lol
SO after this much time the 2017-2018 undercovers with the access panels did work on the 2015 5.0 Genesis?I have decided to purchase the 2018 G80 under-panels to make my oil changes easier on my 2015 Genesis 5.0. I will be changing my oil and transmission fluid soon, so I will install the new panels then since I have to remove both of the old panels to access the transmission pan anyway.
The new panels seem like they should fit, but I will not know until I actually bolt them on. I will also install a Fumoto F106S drain valve as well.
The G80 under-body panels with hatches for the drain plug and oil filter.

I was reading through the posts - did anyone determine that the 2018 3.8 body panels would swap to the 2015?Read post #13 on page #1 of this thread. It gives you your answer.![]()
The answer is still clearly explained in post number 13 on page 1 for the 5.0 RWD model, but I do not know about the 3.8 models or 5.0 AWD models.I was reading through the posts - did anyone determine that the 2018 3.8 body panels would swap to the 2015?
Went through a flooded street and now have a dragging front cover
Did you find anything out on the 3.8l 2015 to 2018 swap?? I am interested in doing this if it works. Plus what is the new part number if it indeed works. The answer is still clearly explained in post number 13 on page 1 for the 5.0 RWD model, but I do not know about the 3.8 models or 5.0 AWD models.

do you mind sharing the measurements for the cut outs please!?Well, we've owned the 2015 5.0 long enough that I grew completely tired of taking those doggone underpanels off to change the filter and oil. A couple years ago I bought the manual top side tube down the dipstick holder method, and it works but 1) I still had to remove the front under cover to get to the filter and 2) I felt like I always left a quart plus of old oil in the car..
So..
I took the covers off a couple days ago and using the pics on page 1 of this thread, a ruler on the computer monitor screen and a little scaling math, figured out where to cut my own flaps. I used zip ties to hold the flap in place when it isn't open. Works!
Should have done this 100,000 miles ago!
can you do me a huge favor, make a part numbers for wat u got? wana make sure i get the rite stuff as i wasted $49 on that fumoto 106s for 2017 g80, 3.8 awd.Why bother with replacement panels or jacking the car up?
I posted this elsewhere but in case you haven't seen it...
You can buy a 14mm x1.5 to -6an adapter and use a -6an hose and run it to the outer side of the car behind the front left wheel well. There's also a barbed adapter available that will fit the pan thread to a dash 6 hose so you don't have to use a second female hose end. I had all these parts except for the pan adapter.
Put a female/barbed hose end at the outer end with a -6 cap. I drilled two small holes for a tyrap to keep it in place. For extra insurance, I safety wired a wrap around the hose for each barbed fitting. The hose easily routes under the cross member to the outed edge of the panel. (I put some sticky back foam at any place there could be chaffing) Leave a little extra hose (3-4") to pull out from the panel and over a drain pan. You'll only have to jack the car up once to install it.

The shot above had the hose routed over the crossmember but I changed it to go under, as below.

This whole thing shouldn't cost over $40 or so in parts. Next time you drain the oil... snip the tyrap, pull the hose out over a pan and remove the cap. That end of the panel hung down a bit so I drilled a hole in the two panels and put in one of those plastic spreader plugs to hold them together.
