  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Is a video rear view mirror available for the 2023 GV60?

Where are you located? In the U.S., no.

In the US (at least for the performance model) the answer is sort of. When you turn on your turn signal a video window opens up on the dash in front of the driver showing what is on that side of the car. But it doesn't replace the mirrors. You still have the mirrors with the blind spot indicator.

I say "sort of" because the camera is not replacing the side view mirrors but rather is supplementing them.

Yeah. He's asking about the rear view mirror though (the one in the middle). Some cars have it so that even if you can't see out the back, you can still see behind you when reversing via a digital rear view mirror (using cameras).

I'm willing to buy a mirror from the Korean market and see if can be retrofitted with the rear camera and mount that is used in the domestic model.
The big question is whether it will be plug and play.

There are two sensors built into the US mirror that controls the night auto dimming feature for the center AND side mirrors.

What is a "video rear view mirror".

There is a camera on the rear glass feeding a video to the front mirror which is actually a small screen. My wife has one on her Toyota RAV 4 Prime.

Regardless of whether it works or not, do bear in mind that when you look in a real mirror your eyes focus on the reflection, so roughly mid distance just like when looking through windscreen. But on a video mirror your eyes focus on the physical screen itself so you’ll constantly be changing focus between the mid distance looking forward and close up to look at what’s behind you. Fine if you’re quite young but can become tiresome if you’re a bit older.

I'm 70 and that's not an issue with my wife's car. The wider angle view from the rear window camera is amazing. Far better than looking through the split window. Additionally, on my wife's car, you still have the choice of the regular mirror with the flip of a switch.

I am not aware of this being available on the GV60 in any region.

I believe you are correct. In some regions, such as Korea, I think They replace the side view mirrors with cameras BUT the image is then displayed on a square video screen by the front door hinge. For example:

We have this as an option in UK. I had a loan car with them - horrible things - the answer to a problem that doesn’t exist!

I'd like to get connected to somebody who can direct me to a Korean new car dealer with a parts department.

If I can see the specs for the rear view digital mirror, I'll order it from Korea and have it installed in my 2023 GV60. Hopefully it's plug and play.

If you do end up finding a way somehow or doing it yourself please let me know! I had a bolt and this was one of my favorite features and I'm a bit sad I had to give it up. it's the one feature I liked more that the Bolt had that the GV60 didnt

Any updates on this? I am also interested in an OEM digital rearview mirror for a 2023 GV60. Are the newer parts available and will they fit the 2023?

I certainly wouldn’t bet on ANY items from different countries or different trim levels being Plug & Play. This car, and I assume most of these fancy electrics, are very much built & programmed for the equipment they are intended for.

I’ve mentioned previously in other threads, I tried for a month with the assistance of a fella in Korea who was in contact with the company that makes the OEM & aftermarket suspension controller, it worked but the information wouldn’t save, you had to enter the details every time you started the car.

If it is like the image in the window that opens when I turn on the turn signal, it is truly horrible. I no longer even glance at the window. It is too unrealistic and therefore dangerous.
