Yeah. He's asking about the rear view mirror though (the one in the middle). Some cars have it so that even if you can't see out the back, you can still see behind you when reversing via a digital rear view mirror (using cameras). In the US (at least for the performance model) the answer is sort of. When you turn on your turn signal a video window opens up on the dash in front of the driver showing what is on that side of the car. But it doesn't replace the mirrors. You still have the mirrors with the blind spot indicator.
I say "sort of" because the camera is not replacing the side view mirrors but rather is supplementing them.
I'm willing to buy a mirror from the Korean market and see if can be retrofitted with the rear camera and mount that is used in the domestic model.Yeah. There is a camera on the rear glass feeding a video to the front mirror which is actually a small screen. My wife has one on her Toyota RAV 4 Prime. What is a "video rear view mirror".
I'm 70 and that's not an issue with my wife's car. The wider angle view from the rear window camera is amazing. Far better than looking through the split window. Additionally, on my wife's car, you still have the choice of the regular mirror with the flip of a switch.Regardless of whether it works or not, do bear in mind that when you look in a real mirror your eyes focus on the reflection, so roughly mid distance just like when looking through windscreen. But on a video mirror your eyes focus on the physical screen itself so you’ll constantly be changing focus between the mid distance looking forward and close up to look at what’s behind you. Fine if you’re quite young but can become tiresome if you’re a bit older.
I am not aware of this being available on the GV60 in any region. There is a camera on the rear glass feeding a video to the front mirror which is actually a small screen. My wife has one on her Toyota RAV 4 Prime.
I believe you are correct. In some regions, such as Korea, I think They replace the side view mirrors with cameras BUT the image is then displayed on a square video screen by the front door hinge. For example:I am not aware of this being available on the GV60 in any region.
We have this as an option in UK. I had a loan car with them - horrible things - the answer to a problem that doesn’t exist!I believe you are correct. If it is like the image in the window that opens when I turn on the turn signal, it is truly horrible. I no longer even glance at the window. It is too unrealistic and therefore dangerous. We have this as an option in UK. I had a loan car with them - horrible things - the answer to a problem that doesn’t exist!
