  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

For no apparent reason my rear view mirrors stopped tilting down when I go into reverse. Rear camera is still working just mirrors stopped tilting down. I had become accustomed to this feature as it really helps when backing out of the garage. Oh well I'm off work tomorrow I'll try to get it to the Hyundai dealership so they can fix it. I'll post what the issue was after it is corrected.

I assume you know that " When the remote control outside
rearview mirror switch is placed in the middle position,
the outside rearview mirrors will not operate ".

No sir, I did not know that, thanks very much for the fast response. Moved from the center position and now all is OK. Cheers :D

Also, if you just want the passenger side to tilt down, move the switch to the right side.

When all else fails, "Read the owners manual". <grin>

Wow ~~i have had my car for 3 weeks now and never knew that they tilt down --ha,ha,ha--in the middle the whole time !!! Can't wait to try it ...thanks for the tip...it's almost every day i find out the car does something else ..love my genesis .....so much fun !!!

I believe this only works on the 2009. My 2010 has both or none option. ;)

Now really, gentlemen, is this not much more fun than reading that manual?????

Chopperdude did say "for no apparent reason". <Grin>

I guerss there was a reason after all.

BTW, am I the only person who reads an Owners Manual cover to cover not only when I first get a new car, but every so often after that?

I always start out like that with really good intentions and get 1/3 to half-way through before giving up on the read through.

Same with the Bible, ya know what I mean?????

Ron;)

The time you waste reading the owner's manual would be much better spent driving your Genesis or participating more in the Hyundai Genesis Sedan forum :)

Which is why you do what I do: you read the owner's manual BEFORE you're even an owner!!!

Did it last night, cover to cover. Cannot WAIT to own this beauty and play with all the toys.

It *IS* nice to find a new surprise feature in your brand new car once in a while though.... I have to admit.

No you're not, Bob. This retired Marine read his owner's manual cover to cover also. Problem is, there's so many features, I can never remember them all.

What I love about this site are the little "undocumented" tidbits and tricks that people find...and the reminders about the stuff that's in the manual, but that I forgot about.
