I saw a Genesis Coupe yesterday in the parking lot at the St. Laurent Shopping Centre.
I've seen a bunch of light-coloured ones... including, interestingly enough, one with diplomatic (red) plates.
Welcome to the club. Where did you get your car? Bank St., Pathway or Myers? Did you get a 2009 or one of the first 2010's?
There aren't a lot of Genny's in Ottawa as far as I can tell. I've started seeing a few now and then but usually just a glance as somebody flashes by. For the first time since I got my car over a year ago, I actually wound up following another Genesis on the road. I followed somebody for about 3 Km's southbound on Prince of Wales Dr and then we both turned west onto Huntclub for a block or two. Couldn't tell if it was a black one or dark blue since it was dark.
Hope you enjoy your car.

My dad just got his installed... and wasn't charged by the dealer.
Can someone enlighten me - what is the problem you guys are talking about here?
Canadian-spec 2009 V6 cars, along with early production US ones, are missing a trunk cover.
Basically, if you can see the underside of the subwoofer and speakers when you open the trunk, that's not how it should be. Hyundai designed a trunk that needed this cover (plenty of cars don't have one, but they also don't have speakers intruding into the cargo area), but then decided not to include it on the V6 cars.
There's a big huge thread about it somewhere else around here. In the US, Hyundai will pay for the part; in Canada it seems to be a dealer goodwill thing, or you can buy it for $250.
I bought our V6 from Pathway in early October. It already had the trunck cover. I imagine a lot of people would not like the looks of the trunk with the speakers visible. It only makes sense. If you want to sell the Genesis, don't have it looking cheap. Seeing the speakers would have given me second thoughts.
When was your car produced? (It's on the sticker in the door jamb)
I was at the auto show in Toronto in February, the V6 Genesis sedan on display was a November build IIRC, and it didn't have the trunk cover.
I wonder if Hyundai started throwing them in, or if Pathway did because they were tired of all the people asking for them once they found out about this site...
I'm using Continental's - can't remember the exact model. The rims are from Fast and have the Hyundai flying H logo - once again I can't recall the exact model. The Continentals are good winter tires but due to a mix up when I ordered them last year, I wound up with Ykohama's for about three weeks and they were actually a better tire. If I had to do it again, I would go for the Yoko's.
I am having serious issues with the suspension on the Genesis. If anyone else in the area has a chance to drive along Albion Rd. between Lietrem and Lester Rds, please let me know how yor Genesis makes out. For myself, I find that is a brutal ride in this car compared to my old car. This is only one example - there are many bad roads in the Ottawa area and I'm wondering if any other Genesis owners are experiencing the same problem that I am.
I recently put winter tires on and there is a marked improvement in the ride just by doing that. I intend to deal with Hyundai regarding the stock tires that came with the car, there is no way that putting snow tires on a "luxury" vehicle should improve the ride over the stock preformance tires but that is exactly what I've experienced, and I'm pretty sure I'm not alone with this.
