  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Hi... I am an old fart but new here and drive a 2011 Genesis V-8 that I am really enthusiastic about except one thing. I need everybody's help that feels the same about the iPod interface on the Genny. It may be a small thing to many but the only time it shows the artist and the album for a song is when you have the iPod in "random" mode. All other times it shows the name of the song only... maybe I'm being picky about this but the Audi that I traded showed all the info that is on the iPod in any mode. I called Hyundai customer service and, although they were very pleasant, they basically said that until they have more complaints about it they wouldn't do a software update. Soooo, I am asking that anyone that has an interest in having this problem corrected please call customer service. Maybe if enough call they will do something about it... and then again maybe I am so old and can't remember every artist and album that it is playing that it isn't something everybody wants. :) (sorry to be so long-winded).

Looking to update and upgrade your Genesis luxury sport automobile? Look no further than right here in our own forum store - where orders are shipped immediately!
I'll give you something else to think about.

I am an audiophile and have a lot of Tube amplifiers and hi-end gear in my home. I-Pods use a format called MP3. Which compresses the music to fit into a small space. (It cuts out high and Low Freqs, which small ear buds cannot reproduce anyway). It lets you pack a lot of music into a small compact I-pod to carry around and listen to on ear buds.

With your Genesis, you have a pretty good audio system for a Car, with speakers capable of reproducing more music than MP3s can deliver. My advice is to dump the I-pod and get some quality DVDs and CDs. They'll have the artists name and song on them and will sound much better than the MP3 format.

Actually, most IPOD music is in the AAC format if it came from Itunes but it is still low quality. You can use different programs to rip your music from CD's and save them in larger file size and better quality.

Thanks for the added information. Doesn't solve my problem but I'll give your suggestions a try. Guess I was just spoiled by my Audi system which is similar to the one in my Genny. Still lovin' the car though.
