  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Love my 2011 Genesis 4.6… Just turned 275k and it looks & runs like new. I’d like to eventually replace the suspension with the 2012 5.0 parts when the struts finally wear out, and I’m thinking of buying a G90 with about 30k miles on it.

Welcome aboard! And thank you for signing up. I'm glad you found us! How long have you had your Genesis Sedan for? And what did it replace for you? I see you're been happy enough with your Genesis to be looking at a G90. What year is the one with 30k miles on it?

Hi Sal — I bought my 4.6 new in January, 2011, and it turned 274,500 miles today. It replaced a 1994 Camery XLS… I also own a 2002 Toyota Avalon, with 216,000 miles that will likely become a hand-me-down to a granddaughter. Yep, my next car will likely be a used late-model G90 or GV90 with about 30k miles on it (slightly broken in). If my 4.6 continues running like it is, I foresee keeping it well into 400k. I use Glare.com products on the paint that gives it a glass look finish and superb protection… I also use Glare products on my Piper Archer III as well. I’ll keep an eye on your website on various topics as I need service or upgrades for my 4.6… Outside of replacing a noisy differential at 114,000 mi, a camshaft position sensor about every 120,000 mi (2nd one in my garage), all wheel brake job every 130,000 mi, spark plugs at 200,000 mi, 7-sets of tires, and a rear camera (in my garage) at 250,000 mi I’ve had no other issues. The drivers seat is starting to look like it could use some cushion support, but I think I have a solution for that.
HAVE FUN! —Steve—

I'm really glad to hear you're getting such great use out of your Genesis Sedan. And I hope you keep us posted on your journey to 400,000 miles! That was a very nice upgrade to the Toyota Camry XLS - which was also a nice car. The Avalon has always been a favorite of mine as I always looked at it as a reasonably priced luxury sedan. Though the G90 would be a big upgrade there as well. The GV80 is great if you're looking to drive with a more birds-eye view - and the GV90 will also likely be a very impressive automotive to own and drive... We're still waiting for more information on that model... In the meantime, you have a great day and a wonderful new year ahead!
