Buying my Genesis this weekend! Need some color advice...

Thanks for all of the wonderful information provided on this forum! You all have helped convince me that the Genesis is an amazing vehicle and incredible value. We are going to sign on the dotted line Saturday morning!

Although I have had a very difficult time finding my desired color combo (Black Ext, Tan Int w/ Tech Pkg), I have found a dealer that has a Silver/Black and Grey/Black - both w/ Tech Pkg available. We live in C. Florida and are concerned with the dark interior - but frankly, there are no black/tan interiors w/ the Nav system available and we have decided to go with the black.

Can I please get some input/thoughts/opinions about the Silver vs. Grey colors on the Genesis - both w/ black interiors?

I'm in Texas and understand the trepidation with getting a black car. looks the best of all,nbut not that easy to live with. I have been opting for silver vehicles for the last several years.

Welcome aboard, Flytowny! Thank you for signing up! Personally, I think the Genesis looks best in black because of the chrome. My next favorite is silver.. Get the color you want.. I have a black car in South Florida and it's not so bad at all - AND it's in the sun all day long.. As long as the A/C works nicely, you'll be fine..

It WOULD be nice if the Genesis had an option to roll all the windows down and open the moonroof with the key fob...

I think Flytowny's concern was more with the black leather interior than the exterior. Not having owned a black interior before, I can't really address the issue - though I imagine it would get really hot...

Six years ago, I got rid of an '00 328i that I really liked, but the black leathette seats were killing me (thermally), so I switched to a 5-series with a lighter interior.

I won't repeat the story of how I ended up buying a black/black Genesis, but having owned it for seven weeks now...throughout many hot, humid days in the midwest...I would recommend that flytowny not let a black interior be a deal-breaker, if it comes to that. Between the aftermarket window tinting and the cooled drivers seat (although that implies getting the Tech Pkg), I have no complaints about the black interior on this car. In fact, it's a pretty "light black" (if that's possible)...a lot of people think it's gray.

It remains to be seen if the black exterior drives my nuts halfway through our long midwest winters, though...

I'm in St. Pete and have a Blk/Blk. After 20yrs of Bimmers with Beige interior I was a little reluctant to do black. Had the car since 7/28 and absolutely NO problems with inside temp. The A/C is up to the job, the cooled seat does its job, as does the tint. The only issue with the black is the dashboard, if you want to put bare feet on it. It does get a bit hot.

The Titanium Gray Metallic wouldbe outstanding with black interior.

Curious, what kind of deal are they giving on Tech package car in Fla. I live in NJ and can't get anyone to give me more than$1500 off the $40K sticker.

I have the Black on Black and live in South Texas. Thats what air conditioning is for. The only problem is Black is hard to keep clean. I have mine washed a couple of times a week.

Yeah personally I love the color combo of Black/Black...

I remember one Lexus I had- the GSM told me you will love the combo- but since you live in LA- make sure you get it tinted- otherwise you tush and inside will be HOT...

And it sure got hot- but as most people know- when Black/Black's are clean- no doubt they are the #1 color combo
