  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

I'd be way more fearful of the battery condition and lifespan when buying say even an EV that has 35,000 miles on it. The end of life for that battery could be very near. As opposed to an ICE vehicle, people don't think twice about mid to higher mileage cars. Many ICE cars these days could got well over 100K miles with next to no worries. Not the case with an EV.
The car comes with a transferrable battery pack warranty:

WARRANTY TRANSFERABILITY SECTION 5 The New Vehicle Limited, Anti-Perforation Limited, Emissions Performance, Emissions Design and Defect, Emissions Control Systems, and Replacement Parts and Accessories Limited warranty coverages described in this handbook apply to the vehicle regardless of a change in ownership, and are transferable to subsequent owners. The 10-year/100,000 mile Powertrain Limited Warranty is not transferable and applies only to the original owner, as defined under “Original Owner” included in the Powertrain Limited Warranty (Original Owner) section of this Owner's Handbook.

So unless the second buyer is planning to keep the car for a very long time with lots of mileage, it should not be a concern.

From the calls I've made to a Genesis dealers on used GV60's - the 2nd owner receives a 5-year / 60K mile warranty on the battery pack. However I've also read conflicting information (as you posted) that the original 10-year / 100,000 mile *does not* transfer the the 2nd owner. To further the confusion, a Certified Pre-Owned warranty apparently preserves the original powertrain warranty.

It would be great if Genesis made this clear on their website without having to research this.

Genesis CPOs give you:

6 Yr, 75k comprehensive warranty ( bumper to bumper)
10 Yr, 100k Powertrain
3 years of connected services
However, the 2nd owner (if not CPO) gets the reduced 5-years / 60K miles on the battery pack, is that correct?

Quoting verbatim from Genesis: "The 10-year/100,000 mile Powertrain Limited Warranty is not transferable and applies only to the original owner, as defined under “Original Owner” included in the Powertrain Limited Warranty (Original Owner) section of this Owner's Handbook."

^This is what's confusing to me. Is the battery part of the comprehensive, or powertrain warranty? As written ,it implies the 2nd owner does not receive the original powertrain warranty but dealers assure me that the 2nd owner do a receive a reduced warranty.

Keep reading (actually prereading if that is a thing):

WARRANTY TRANSFERABILITY
The New Vehicle Limited, Anti-Perforation Limited, Emissions Performance, Emissions Design and
Defect, Emissions Control Systems, and Replacement Parts and Accessories Limited warranty coverages
described in this handbook apply to the vehicle regardless of a change in ownership, and are transferable
to subsequent owners.
The 10-year/100,000 mile Powertrain Limited Warranty is not transferable and applies only to the
original owner, as defined under “Original Owner” included in the Powertrain Limited Warranty (Original
Owner) section of this Owner's Handbook.

Section 6 of the warranty booklet defines powertrain and that definition does not include the battery pack which has a separate section of the booklet (section 7).

Of course, a subsequent owner might have difficulty contesting a claim that warranty conditions precedent were not satisfied by the previous owner.
