Nice! Yeah the Coyote's are great motors, plenty fast as-is but when you add boost it almost doubles the power. It's crazy. My mustang has a Gen5 Stage 2 Whipple SC. On my 2018 F150 Coyote truck I did a tune and E85 and for a truck it really hauled arse.

Regarding my C8, it was a 2021 I ordered from Criswell, took about a year, paid MSRP and the market was thru the roof, so I parked it in my garage and sold it with literally 4 miles on it for $18k more than I paid for it.

Currently have a deposit on an Eray with MacMulkin and currently # 300 on the list.

As to the F150's, I don't care what anyone says, they are just fantastic vehicles. I will really miss mine. But there is a trade-off with everything.
Cars are way more practical for a DD.

Yeah, last year she had a Ram Classic 1500 with the 5.7 for about 7 months, while also having the F150 - she loved the deep rumble of the Ram, but still refuses to get a set of duals for the F150.

Your C8 was beautiful! My buddy got his IIRC early December 2020, and then it went into winter storage 2 weeks later. In the spring he was really tempted to flip it Pfaff Porsche offered him more than $30K (Cdn) over what he paid as a trade in on a new 911 order, and he was super-tempted to do it but decided to hold off as his Porsche wouldn't come in until fall, and he decided to keep it for a while longer. Once the Z06 was announced demand for the original C8s dropped, so he's decided to keep it. I was quite impressed when I drove it.

I love the color and mods on your Mustang - other than the wing, it's really discreet (I'm not a wing guy, maybe a ducktail at most).

That is a bad ass looking Mustang. I had a C5 ZO6 a few years ago and it was a blast. Not refined at all and cheap interior, but a true beast.

Thank you! Nice C5Z! Yes, they are fantastic track cars. Very light weight, great handling and great power. Buddy of mine is a track instructor and bought his C5 Z06 new back in 2003 and still owns it as his track vehicle. It's also yellow!

Honestly it's not bad daily either if you don't require a lot of luxury and don't live in the snow belt. They are reliable, have usable trunk space and get good gas mileage on the highway.

Thanks! I used to be obsessive about detailing, and on all the forums etc, countless 1/4 empty bottles of various polishes, sealants, etc. along with piles of MF towels in my garage, but @ age 51 I recently started using reputable mobile detailers. This shot was after one of them finished my truck and mustang, it was a full detail w/stage 1 paint correction and ceramic coating. Not sure of the products he used, but it did come out nice!

Indeed. And if you use an OEM filter, which I always do, to avoid a possible extra fight, both oil filter and oil quality/kind is easily verifiable, so nobody in their right mind would deny warranty for something like that. But if you tampered with your ECU (like a tune), then that's a different story. Just keep a file.

Beautiful cars, guys! I love to see that the G70 attracts a lot of like-minded enthusiasts, although our drug of choice may be different!

Since we're doing show n tell, here's my 997.2 C2S. It was a show car for Porsche Canada - it has the C2S Launch package, but also has almost every option box ticked except for the Porsche Sport Exhaust, the factory 10mm extra lowering package, and a few "a la carte" custom leather options (unfortunately, no leather stereo knobs ). Although it doesn't have the full lowering package, it has the wider "XRR" option Carrera Sport wheels.

The car is all factory, and likely to stay that way except perhaps an aftermarket exhaust when I get around to it. The car is a summer daily driver, it's now got just over 97,000kms (appx 60K miles). For me the 997.2 is the perfect balance between a relatively modern car with very direct analog feel and performance. I've had this car longer than any other in my 37 years of driving, and have no plans to change it.




My other summer toy is my NB1 Miata. I found it in 2018 after a 5 year search for a driver Miata that was not full of rust. It's got lots of miles (over 200K kms/120K miles) and is peppered with rock chips, but drives like a new car. It has pretty much every option available in 1999 (Nardi steering wheel! Bose audio! PW! PDL! AC! ABS! Torsen LSD!) other than a factory hardtop.

I've reupholstered the worn leather, installed some Tein S springs on Koni Sport dampers, new bushings everywhere, and bronze 15x7.5" Konig Dekagram wheels. I intentionally put some entry-level Bridgestone summer tires on it instead of top-tier ones, to keep the car loose at reasonable speeds. I may install an aftermarket catback exhaust on this car (when I get around to it, of course).

This car has no power, but it's an absolute blast to drive at almost-legal speeds. I will own this car forever.

There is just something special about them and they are generally so well balanced. I liked your comment about the analog feel, I know just what you mean. She's definitely a keeper!

When I was younger I would make fun of miata's but those day's are long gone. I know they are capable of beating much more powerful cars around certain tracks, and I've heard countless times how fun they are to drive and that's what really matters.

I had an NA Miata in the mid to late nineties. I got into autocross, then the track day bug and started to modify it. I made it better on the track but it became horrible on the street. I sold it to buy my first Porsche, an ‘86 944 with the M474 sport package - with a new set of Koni yellows and a harness mount bar it was a great dual-purpose car, and a better fit for my lifestyle.. but I always regretted selling the Miata, hence the quest to find another 14 years later.

She decided it was time for it to go. I advertised it with an attractive price to move quickly. Parents came with their 20 year old son for his first car of his own. He had saved 6000$ and they would cover any difference. They did not drive the car, nor even start it. They trusted me. (can you believe that)?) We came to an agreement* and the next day the deal was complete. Mother drove ~80 miles from their home with son. Son drove her car home as she drove the Miata. HE COULD NOT DRIVE A STICK. She sent me a photo later that day with the young man in the drive in front of the house sitting in the car, top down, a smile a foot wide. All he could do was sit in it.

* many people were kind to me when I was young, and for no reason other than my naive and innocent self. This young man reminded me of that time and he received a VERY good deal.

I'm trying to teach my 14yo son the concepts behind using a manual transmission. He's been sitting in the Miata in the garage practising "clutch in, shift up/down, clutch gently out" working his way up and down the gears. Once he turns 16 I'll have to change insurers for a year so that he can learn to drive a manual with that car; I'll likely also take him through autocross school so that he can learn to drive the car to (and over) the edge in controlled conditions.

He's a lucky kid, he's gonna have an almost-new 2017 CX-5 GS AWD waiting for him when he gets his license. We bought the CX brand new old stock for my wife in late spring 2018, and she only drove about 25,000kms in the year and a half before COVID. After collecting another 25,000kms during 2020, 2021, and 2022, in the 1st week of January 2023 it got rear-ended (no frame/unibody damage, just the rear hatch/glass and rear bumper cover which were replaced). Due to post-COVID supply chain issues we knew it would take a couple of months, and we replaced it (with an F150) and figured we'd sell the CX-5 in the spring market.

Well, due to the incompetence of the first bodyshop, we had to have the work redone (twice) and finally got the car back in late October 2023 (yes, 10 months later); and because of the fact that the first bodyshop (owned by the insurance co) tried the repair twice then it went to a second (competent) bodyshop to redo the work again, the Carfax now shows 3 accident repairs over the course of 10 months. No dealer will buy or take it on trade, and it would get killed at auction - what would have otherwise gotten us $26K would get us ~$12-13K.

Given we will likely need another car in 2 years when kiddo is 16, we decided we'll just throw it into long-term storage at my mom's condo underground garage until then - from a parent's perspective, it's almost the perfect car for a teenage boy as it has AWD, a relatively underpowered motor, and a full suite of safety features. The sound system is ok, but not too loud. It's nice, but it's not too "cool". And it keeps him from doing something dumb showing off to his friends driving my cars.

But speaking of Miatas, haha, I had been looking for a while and got very lucky to find a super-clean, like miles, well maintained NC2 (unlike many purists, the NC is my favorite, and it has more room and cubbies than the others) at a great price. This one also has the sport suspension, LSD and 6 speed. We've put 800 miles on it in three weeks, haha. Sooo much fun. Our first convertible and loving it. Sorry, had to share.
