It’s still there. If you’re using an ad blocker you’re probably not seeing attachments. The new system preserves resources by restricting a few of the more resource hungry items when ad blockers are used.

I can manually remove you, but the system will move you back in unless you disable the ad blocker.

Since the latest software update, the new system preserves resources by restricting a few of the more resource intensive features when ad blockers are used. Things like search and attachments are items that fall into that category. Try whitelisting this site and browse around a bit and the functionality will become available again. Basic functionality like reading, writing, etcetera is not affected... To note, any of the account upgrades (support options) allow for the use of an ad blocker without the reduced functionality.

Please keep in mind that this community is free for you to use - but not free for me to operate.

It would be on your end. Most people don't even know they're using an ad blocker. It's a setting in your Firefox web browser. Probably an extension. The extension will allow you to "whitelist" this site as trusted.

They all have the same adblockers, unfortunately. It's why communities like this are either going away or being sold to one of the two multibillion dollar corporations that own most of them now.

At this point they own so many forums that they don't even list them on their websites anymore.

Internet Brands even bought the old forum software we all used to love (before they bought it) - vBulletin.

I think it’s all the same. Blocking is blocking no matter how it’s done. It’s a robust system that’s designed to give ad blocking viewers the ability to read messages, ask questions, answer questions if they want - and at the same time preserve resources so that the server can operate in such a way that the community can be useful for everyone.

Unfortunately for me, we’re outgrowing the current server and if I’m going to upgrade to something larger and more powerful (more expensive on an ongoing basis), ad revenue is crucial.
