  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Navigation Map and Software Update Discussion Thread

If it makes our Canadian friends on this forum feel any better, we're still waiting here in Northern Virginia for the OTA update. I suspect -- without any actual knowledge -- that Genesis may have paused the update due to bugs (e.g. users have been complaining about problems with phone calls with the new system update). So no wireless CarPlay yet for us. :(
Strange. I got mine awhile ago and I'm in MD

After the recent Nav. & Software update I just noticed the updated screen information on the dash when charging at EA this morning. I don't recall before the update seeing the time remaining to complete the charge, the image of the EA charger and the "glowing" green light of the EA cable that pulsates on the screen while it's charging. It's kinda neat.

OK, folks, it took me umpteen tries, but I've finally got the downloadable version of the new navigation software to work with wireless CarPlay. Here's what worked:

• Download the new update, and upload it to your GV60. The new software version is JW.USA.ccIC.001.009.240923. This definitely takes a while, but does go pretty seamlessly.
• Delete all old versions of your phone from the car.
• Delete the GV60 from your bluetooth list on your iPhone.
• Here's where I went wrong for about an hour: DO NOT connect your phone to the car using either the car's interface or the regular Bluetooth menus on your iPhone. Go under your iPhone's "Settings" app to the "General" menu, which has a submenu labelled "CarPlay." Click on that and then follow the instructions there (which basically are to press and hold the voice control button on your car's steering wheel to start the CarPlay setup).

So excited to see this work in action!!

This past weekend I did a 300 mile road trip, first since upgrade. A few things I noticed:

• A few times the Seat Bolster was working between ignition cycles. Even a couple times when not in Sport the bolster activated.
• Most of the time my Pixel 8 Pro while running AA wireless would not charge (or drain) with a 100W charger.
• Wave’s display in the instrument cluster only shows next turn with a large blank space underneath. Pic below.
• Steering Wheel Touchpad setting is set to Change Preset Station but functions as if Channel Station/Channel is selected. Pic below.

That over three times more than I thought was possible...
That's its max rate. It will adjust down to the input required. Its a Anker cigarette light adapter. Just bummed it won't charge, AA draws so much...

Yeah, but the phone's max is 27W. 27W should have been more than enough to still charge while AA was running. 10W I would understand...

Wireless charging stops if the phone overheats. iPhone for example will tell you that it is stopped charging for temperature reasons, perhaps that was what was happening? 27W is more than enough to charge while projecting, so maybe they weren’t getting 27W from the charger

Looking to update and upgrade your Genesis luxury sport automobile? Look no further than right here in our own forum store - where orders are shipped immediately!
Looks like the update files are live for the Canadian downloads. Just updated my GV60 this morning and it automatically migrated my phone connection from wired to wireless android auto.
I updated via USB this morning, works brilliantly.

To reiterate, you have to remove GV60 from your existing CarPlay connections in settings > general > CarPlay, I also removed it from Bluetooth, and then was prompted to enable wireless CarPlay while re-adding the vehicle Bluetooth connection.

No issues so far, and I took a phone call with it. Super stoked that Genesis ported this back to already delivered vehicles. This was my number one grievance about the car, totally solved now 🫶

Wired charge. New cable that supports 100W as well.

Wired charging is subject to the same thermal limits. It's the phone's battery temperature that determines whether charging is allowed, not how it's charging. Wireless charging just causes more heat because its inefficient.

I routinely get the message when plugged-in on long summer trips (my phone sit in a cupholder mount).

Good point. I'm not getting any overheat warnings. Your info just made me think I should run a app that displays the thermals and battery charging input to see what the phone is actually doing. Forgot the name of the app.

I received the update OTA back in September and just downloaded the new one. I can confirm that the vehicle identifies this as a newer update than the one received OTA and proceeds with installation.

Still no OTA availability here in suburban Philadelphia, so I broke out a USB stick and did the deed today with physical media.

Snap verdict: wireless CarPlay is not bad and the ability to cast maps onto the cluster display is fab.

I thought that the wireless CarPlay software could only be done OTA. Has Genesis corrected the incorrect version that was mislabeled on the uploader. Here in CT I have not received an OTA download yet, however my new 2023 only has 1100 miles on it. Is there anyway to be notified through the Genesis app when the OTA download occurs as I am presently on vacation without my vehicle?

Also, outside Philly, I downloaded the update and turned the car off this evening with it updated. I will see how it looks in the AM. If it works as expected, I will have a wireless USB Carplay adapter to give away.

That was previously correct, but no longer true.

Yes, they have corrected it.

Not aware of any automated notification capability.
