  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Blank Instrument Cluster

Is there any chance they listed any details about that update in your service report?
Looks like it was released in August 2024 but apparently was not installed when I took delivery. My guess is that the fix was not related to the update itself...but the install procedure/reboot etc may have done the trick (or not): Here is the info on my report:
[Primary]: T57G : BMS UPDATE FOR DTC P1AA900 24-01-070G (W) BMS UPDATE FOR DTC
P1AA900 24-01-070G $0.00

Could you also let us know what your various software versions are, as reported by the vehicle under Setup/General? There should be:

1. Software Version:
2. Firmware Version:
3. Navigation App Version:
4. Map Version:
5. Vehicle System Version:

I was out running errands when I asked you to share. Now that I am home looking at my invoice, I don't have anywhere near the fidelity of information. Here is my story. I took delivery of a new '24 on 5 October that was manufactured in June of '23. So clearly it was behind in software. I had it in the dealer 9 days later and was hoping that they could push the update for wireless AA. They said no, but while it was there checked for updates. Some of the updates took more than 30 minutes each. I know because I was waiting!

What I can get from this paperwork is that they did:

1. Campaign 910G - VCMS update software charging logic
2. BMS Update for DTC
3. LH/RH mirror software

I am guessing #2 is your update above, but I sure which I had the additional information for my records.

My question, from this experience (and yours) is why are they selling cars that are not up to date?

In my case I made my purchase about an hour before closing and they were pretty gung ho about me leaving with the vehicle. They washed it up but doubt they did anything else. I needed to have some things fixed the other day and on the intake process they checked if there was anything that needed to be installed. The "advisor" said the update had "just been released" but that may have just been something to prevent me from wondering why this wasn't done before delivery. On the other hand, I'm not sure I found this precise update through my google search.

Very interesting! You have a newer Vehicle System Version (24.11.1) than is common. I have v23.12.1, and I have no idea what the difference is.

Could you check on one more thing? What's your build date (as shown on the driver side B-pillar info plate - upper left corner)?

Good catch, I am also on 23.12.1. I had the BMS update, so that must not be what changed that version.

Well, my recent update was not the fix, just had a blank cluster at start...screen came on within 30 seconds or so but the issue was definitely still there.

Call the Genesis care line. If warranted, they will assign you a national case number and turn it over to technical.

As expected, my cable insulation fix at the dealership didn't solve this. I filed a case with the 800# and they said a tech case manager will call me back. I also have another appointment at the dealership tomorrow. I'll give it one last try with them, but I know it won't work - based on all that I've read in various forums. Just due diligence though - as they mentioned the case manager will be working with my dealership apparently.

Looking to update and upgrade your Genesis luxury sport automobile? Look no further than right here in our own forum store - where orders are shipped immediately!
Another quick update here after my second dealership visit for this issue. They just called to let me know that their diagnostic tests returned a "fault" in the results, and they indicated the whole cluster needs to be replaced to solve this. They're ordering it from Korea, and it should arrive within a week or so, at which time they said they'll take a half-day to replace it. I hope this works!

... the whole cluster needs to be replaced to solve this.

Wow. Given the number of complaints on this forum alone, there's going to be quite a demand for the part! Let us know how it goes!

Did they say (or could you ask) what the fault was so that the rest of us with this issue will know what to look for? Thanks!

Mine was already replaced once when I had the" OTA Update Stuck at 63%" issue earlier this year. That was their initial "fix" to the issue before they figured out they could solve it with a firmware update. I suspect same will happen again. I have routine service coming up in another 2k miles. Plan on dealing with it then unless the problem gets worse. Hopefully by then, they'll have a better idea of what's going on.

I arrived after the service center closed, so they didn’t know. The write up is attached here, which is not very helpful either.

Thanks, that report does not sound very definitive as to cause. If it were me I might decide to wait to see if this is a simple firmware fix (at least possible) before letting them take my car apart...and then still having the same issue. Then again, my dash has never gone blank while driving, just at startup a handful of times.

Yeah - I'm skeptical but hopeful. I realize generally this sounds like a software issue. However, I'm in another forum with someone who had their cluster replaced 5 weeks ago - and the problem hasn't reoccurred since the replacement. Crossing fingers.
