  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

confusing! Yesterday, my wife was at a concert and had turned her phone off. Today, I started the car and the Genesis paired with my phone which was in the house on charge. My wife got in the car and we left and her phone would not connect (aha, it was turned off). She turned it on and it still would not connect. (Device not found.) After we arrived and then later re-started the car, her phone connected automatically.

Didn't know about this and thought I'd share it. Apparently, the car must be shut off and then turnned back on to search for and connect with a bluetooth device that has been unconnected/relaced by another device.

By the way, the dealership technician explained this incorrectly. He clearly stated that the second phone would have to be manually selected for hands-free operation.

I think it has to be manually selected if both are on and in the car at the same time.

I think that is correct but was not how it was explained. By the way, this explanation followed a two-and-one-half-hour dealer visit due to the fact that the Genesis Bluetooth could not find the primary phone. This was after buying a new phone as the problem was blamed on an older phone. GRRRRR The technician could not pair the phone(s) and was in contact several times with Hyundia before the issue was resolved. He told me that he had to reset the Bluetooth computer????????????

The fact that these advanced features are beyond consumers is one thing. When they are beyond the dealerships, that is a new horse (the Equus?). Being a bit snide here, but darn ... the dealerships should be well educated about these high-tech features and they are not, at least not in my experience.
