  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
    If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

How to get Apple Carplay/Android Auto in a 2015-2016 Genesis Sedan Ultimate (9.2" Screen) - KPLAY

Hi All, I’m planning to install this in my 2015 G80 ultimate. Can someone please help me where I can order the kplay2 kit?
Looks like their website “car4play.kr” is not working and also in the kaptrader.com I couldn’t find any way to order.
Please Help!!! Many Thanks in advance!!
Looks like the car4play website is no longer live. I would use the "Inquiry" button to send an email over on the kaptrader website. Hopefully the company did not go under o_O

Additionally, this is the email I have used to reach out to their sales team directly: sales@car4play.kr

Maybe they're going out of business...

Looking to update and upgrade your Genesis luxury sport automobile? Look no further than right here in our own forum store - where orders are shipped immediately!
I fixed the problem updating the software for the kplay, it seemed to be a software issue. Kplay is now up and running perfectly!
Could you share the update file they provided you?

https://drive.google.com/file/d/1JpF8tIqIZxVrmJaC8MekT27GGLGhgxBq/view?usp=drive_web
Instructions how to update kplay2 (non-touch way)
First, Turn off Kplay2 then unzip file to USB and insert to the connector, then Turn on Kplay2 then it will update automatically. after update, then you can see kplay2 main screen, then you can see Update message on the screen, then you press "ok" button then press "ok" again. then kplay2 will restart and you can see update message again, then press "ok" then 2nd message press "Cancel" <-- no need restart. then take out USB. after then Do calibration first (press hold 10sec).

After then please check the bluetooth setting in Advanced settings menu.
main screen -> setting -> system -> factory mode -> advanced setting then password is "0000" -> factory setting. then you can check and change the setting
you have to check 2 things.
1. MCU type ->IMBC60
2. Bluetooth Type ->BW-122

if not, changed the bluetooth type in advanced settings to BW-122 instead of 121

Update file is pending approval from forum moderators, but I sent it.
I appreciate that, but in the event they don't approve the file, is there any chance you could share the file through a file sharing service like Google Drive and post the link here?

Anyone did the Kplay install and notice the screen intermittently flickering or going black while using the OEM screen mode ?, no trouble while using the kplay screen mode. Im hoping it a loose or corroded contact on the kplay splitter wire connector, planning to use contact cleaner to fix it when the weather gets better.

this was happening to me, it’s the wiring, got a better connection with the hdmi and it’s been clear ever since!

i might have an older version, mines 2 boxes that you have to splice some wires into. the hdmi between them and the spiced wires gradually loosed. i secured them and the flickering went away. but i would check @ any connection points you have.

For who is interested in purchasing a Kplay unit, this was received via email from car4play.kr
The website is close but they still sell the unit, you have to contact them via email.

"HI
HK Carplay 10w + EMS shipping (7~10 days) = u$450.00
and payment by Bank wire transfer. No other options.

If you need, please let me know, then I can make a PI for you.

Best Regards

I really wish the car4play folks would set up shop on eBay. I really would not mind paying all the fees, as long as that made the transaction more secure than wiring money to God knows where :LOL:

I ran into this issue a few months ago. Did you find a solution? Whenever it happens I disconnected the LVDS cables and reconnect them and it gives me a clear OEM screen again. But it’s quite annoying to keep going under the dashboard to do that. I ended up removing the system until I can figure out a better solution.

I've run into this as well - when I tried to explain it to their tech support, they fobbed it off as my infotainment screen being faulty. Even though I sent video evidence to the contrary... Irritating. Every now & again I have to remove the dash cover & give the LDVS cables a wiggle and then it's good for a while. I suspect that they cheaped out on them.

For my problem, only video from the OEM Infotainment is affected, the video from the kplay 2 unit is perfect, I did not get a chance to repair the trouble yet, I will try the LDVS cables and see, the good thing is I do not have to take the dash apart to get to the LDVS cables.

I have the same problem - it's only the OEM video feed that's corrupted. Strangely enough, the touch functionality seems to be unaffected even if the OEM video has gone completely black...
