  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Blank Instrument Cluster

It's been 1.5 months already. I didn't give them my car, drive it daily. My SA told me sometimes in February.

You should really tell them the vehicle is unsafe as you have none of the protective functions/display when the screen is blank. That will also give you leverage if there is a problem with new screen and you have to go into lemon law like I did. The Genesis rep did expedite shipment of our display when I stated that car was unsafe, we were filing lemon law complaint as well as a NHSTB complaint. This SHOULD be a complete recall for all affected vehicles. Our display would sometimes be blank for hours at a time and one time all day. Until Genesis catches enough heat for this issue they will keep putting it off for everyone. There are also more cases of replacement panels being defective also.

Agreed! It seems like a straightforward, black and white safety issue. No speedo, no TPMS, no brake warning system, no seat belt warning, no dead 12V battery warning 😉, on and on the list goes of mandated malfunction lights.

thanks for this. same, but it's a helpful data point that they gave you a date when it might be done.

my advisor did call me yesterday, (I've edited my previous post to reflect that) and said I'd hear something back from someone by the 10th. I don't expect that they can magically get the part, but a status update after I've called/texted several times doesn't seem like too much to ask.

I realized that I'm getting used to black screen and with high degree of accuracy can predict when it'll come back to life 😃. Warm weather is coming!

Mine has been held hostage at the dealer since Dec 31 with the cluster still on backorder. Genesis of Kirkland in the Seattle area. I also had the ICCU fail last year and it took 5 weeks to get that replaced.

I’m going past two weeks now and considering asking for the car back until the part arrives. Very disappointing, and probably my first and last Genesis.

As much as we love the GV60, it will probably be our last Genesis due to the horrible customer service we have received. They really need to get their crap together.

I've been thinking about what is better. Genesis EVs seem to be more reliable and cheaper to repair than Mercedes/BMW/Audi/Porsche/Lucid, but the service is worse. Do I want more reliable and worse service or less reliable and better service?

Sadly, the Cadillac and Lexus and Acura EVs are inferior at the moment.

I tried that but they say it's torn apart, and they can't reimburse for the loaner if I were to get it back while waiting on parts.

So I know there was a discussion in the past if this was impacted by the cold or not.
I live in NC and after a long stretch of cold temperatures, during which the cluster in my car was terrible and sometimes take 10minutes to turn on , this coincided with the major software update that everyone thought it triggered the issue, however, in the past week, the temperature unseasonably warmed up and my screen issue magically went away and I only noticed it once, where it took less than a minute to turn on.

I don't think the issue is only software, it might have to do with insulation/some electronic parts that don't perform 100% when they are cold and/or maybe the software is now more demanding and requires the electronics to be in optimal conditions

Anyhow, did anyone else notice any difference that coincided with the change in the weather? Mainly folks in the South?

Lately I keep my car in the garage and the time for screen to come back is down to a 1-2 minutes, compared to up to 10 before. Certainly it has something to do with temperature. Could be a combination of both...

No difference at all for me. In fact, the day my display was out all day it was unseasonably warm. I don't think has anything to do with temp and is the result of a OTA that corrupts the system bios. My service agent ways it was due to an electrical shot but I don't buy that. How does an OTA update cause an electrical fault unless the system overheats or something and fries itself. My display problems started the day after an OTA update. Was fine before that.

Ahh, the drama continues. We had the display replaced 10 days ago. Working fine.....except, the back cover of the display will not stay on and keeps popping off. Back to the dealership again. We are still trying to get Genesis and the dealership to replace the car as a lemon.....that is pending and will update as we know something.

Has anybody with a 2025 GV60 had the display problem?

today, exactly two months after they told me they'd order a part (and about two weeks after I spoke with a genesis connected services person who told me she'd be escalating my case since I hadn't heard anything and couldn't get anyone on the phone or to return my calls) I got a text from the service manager at the dealership that my replacement console has come in. I've made an appointment to get it replaced next week, and got them to agree to a loaner.

curious to see if it solves the problem, and also how long it takes to replace, since I've seen varying reports in this thread. will report back.

Genesis concierge called for the third time today. No loaner is available, but screen will be here on March 3d (2.5 months after being ordered). At least I told her how I feel about their brand and service...
Confirmed with SA, scheduled appointment for 3/4.
We also own BMW and MB, I cannot imagine having to wait for 2.5 months for the part, malfunctioning of which is a safety hazard with no loaner available. It's borderline negligence.

Finally got my car back today after nearly a full month. Too early to tell if new cluster fixed the issue, but fingers crossed.

so...

dropped my car off yesterday at the dealer to replace the instrument cluster. they gave me a (GV60!) loaner, thankfully. it's not as nice as mine, the steering wheel isn't heated(?!?!) but I digress.

got a call this morning from the dealer, car won't be ready today...they're unable to pair the console.

remember seeing reports here of others who had the same issue, and the console had to be shipped to California...my service manager said it might be a month or more if that's the case here, and said they were doing everything in their power to avoid that, but he made it clear the car can't be driven in it's current condition, something about the mileage not syncing.

advisor said his guy had been on the phone with genesis 'all morning' and he really sounded at a loss. he also said he wasn't sure how genesis would feel about paying for a loaner for a month or more...wasn't there someone here who convinced them how to fix the car WITHOUT sending it to California?

something else I don't understand: if it's a part that needs to be sent to California to fix, wouldn't that be a fairly easy fedex? how do we get to 'possibly months'?

anyway, that's my update.

Jamas, did the fix actually fix it?
