Purchased new, the instructions on the cap say to tighten to "One Click" which worked for about 9 years. The I just tightened it until I thought it was secure enough to keep from having a "Check Engine Light" which worked up to the present. Fueled up today after 2.5 years of the same method of securing the fuel filler cap and it now just spins, both ways. No tightening or coming loose to the next fuel stop.
After you stop laughing, has anyone else experienced this issue? My thoughts are to "mechanically remove" the filler cap and replace with a new one.
