  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Hi,
I am planing to mod my 2012 3.8 sedan and was wondering if most engine mods meant for the coupe will work with the sedan. Specifically, I am looking at lightweight pulleys for the 3.8. Will they be compatible as they are the same engine?
In the same vein, will chassis mods meant for the 4.6 and 5.0 work for the 3.8? Stuff like coilovers and exhaust?
Thanks.

For performance mods some will work however pulleys dont have much advantage and also there diff for the coupe and sedan if you want a Lil boost in power I'd get the coupes 3.8 gdi e85 sensor and a tune (if e85 is available near you) exhaust I'd get a shop to make one it'd be cheaper but unless you have deep pockets not much im working on getting forged rods for.mine

Sal's pages on this forum's site Genesis Accessories (link also at the top of the page) is one of the best sources for available performance mods and bling, unless you have direct access to the markets in Korea and can read/speak Korean.

Unlike the coupes, 1st gen Genesis sedans aren't commonly modified and there isn't much out there in the aftermarket. Our cars already have some of the most efficient HP per cubic-inch engines (if not the most efficient) of their day. Not a lot left to squeeze out of them without significant compromises to reliability, efficiency and emissions, IMO.
