I got a used 2023 G90 a few months ago. Never really used the rear seats. So, family vacation next week. Used the relax (REST) mode with the door button, and it worked great. Tried it the next day, now none of the door switches (right rear passenger, except the massage feature) WORK? They do make an audible sound when pressed, but that's it. The rear passenger's driver's side seat has no problems. I have tried the front and rear armrest display controls, but the relax mode buttons do nothing; the other features of the seat work. The car is started with the doors closed, and no one or nothing is on the front seat. Would this be a fuse, or am I missing something? Also, a side note, when the rear passenger dome light is turned on(from the driver's display or the rear armrest), the only way to turn it off is to press the button on the light? Is this normal?
Thanks for any help

Sounds like you may have hit the lockout button on the front driver side control buttons? See if that is turned on. That locks out being able to use the windows and doors in the back seat I believe.

Should have an orange light on the driver door panel armrest.

Lock button for the windows and the Electric Child Lock button making you think your car is hosed but is just a feature.

Thanks for the reply...Ran out to the car to check. But not that lucky! It seems the memory functions for the passenger rear right seat do not work. All other seats work! The car gives a tone when the door buttons are held(memory position), but does not work when pressed to recall position, and the rest/reset does not work on the handrest or door, but all motor positions work in manual.

So after so investigating, I found out that when there were 3 people in the back seat, the person adjusting the seat (right rear) was using the memory switches on the door to adjust the seat because the armrest was up, and now I think the seat does not know where it is. Is there a way to reinitialize the seat?

I was just posting this when you replied…..I’d keep thinking simple. Fuse is simple.

Did you try resetting the Infotainment center?

Hold the map and setup button while car is off but accessory mode is on, until it resets.

Have you tried to adjust the rear seat with the front screen controls? You could get it back to “neutral” and then hit the memory buttons in the back seat to reset?

Maybe try a different FOB? Aren’t the memory buttons related to the FOB? One FOB has one profile and the other FOB has another driver profile? Could be conflating car features from Palisade’s.

If it is a memory button issue, call Genesis customer service and ask about resetting profile to clear out or reset the memory profiles? They were pretty good and quick when I called to get my iPhone’s digital key working.

I had my mom and her friend in the car as Christmas Day chauffeur…I got out quickly to drop them off near the front door of my sister’s and was doing quick trips in and out of my sister’s with dishes. They were apparently trapped in the car for several minutes not knowing how to get out. I have no idea what the heck they were doing, maybe the child locks were active, I am not sure, but I can certainly guess a bunch of buttons were being pressed, so I can empathize with your issue.

There is nothing more disappointing having to drive passengers around with the rear armrest up!

Alanis Morrisette would have written this into her Ironic song if she owned a G90!

It is right up there with wearing a condom during sex, having to wear a shirt to go swimming because of sunburn, chaperone on a date, fly in the soup, a par 3 golf course, a dog leg when you want to hit 300 yard drive, two tractor trailers passing on the only uphill passing zone for miles, trying to pass a slow cop car car on a long trip, or someone sitting in your row just as the trailers start in an empty movie theatre!

Thanks again for the info/reply. I will try a reset. The seat moves as it should from the front screen/armrest (with the exception of rest, reading mode). Just no memory set for the rear passenger door (do get confirmation tone). I spoke with the person who was in the back seat, and they were pressing all the buttons on the door to adjust the seat (three people were there, and the armrest was up). It was moving, but then stopped. I am going on a trip with my wife next week (12hours in the car!) and want to throw her in the back seat..lol

I need help with 2023 G90 rear seat reset

Sounded pretty promising.

Resetting the System
Take the following procedures to reset
integrated memory system, when one of
the seats does not operate properly.

Resetting integrated memory system

1. Place the Engine Start/Stop button in
the ON position and the shift the gear
to P (Park). Open the corresponding
door of the seat that does not work
properly.

2. Adjust the corresponding seat and
seat back to the foremost position.

3. Press the number 1 button and push
forward the seat movement switch
over 2 seconds simultaneously.

While resetting integrated memory system

1. Resetting starts with a notification
sound.

2. The corresponding seat and seatback
is adjusted to the rearward position
with the notification sound.

3. The corresponding seat and seatback
is re-adjusted to the default position
(central position) with the notification
sound.

However, in the following cases, the
resetting procedure and the notification
sound may stop.

• The memory button is pressed.

• The seat control switch is operated.

• The gear is shifted out of P (Park).

• The driving speed exceeds
2 mph (3 km/h).

• The driver’s door is closed.

NOTICE
• While integrated memory system
is being reset, if the resetting
and notification sound stops
incompletely, restart the resetting
procedure again.

• Make sure that there is no objects
around the driver’s seat in advance
of resetting the integrated memory
system.

Power armrest? I didn't even know that was a "feature" on the 23+. Another reason not to buy the 2nd gen.

Thanks so much for trying to help. I have been pressing every combination of buttons that I could and have been unable to get this seat to work. Maybe I am misunderstanding the instructions.

Does:
--------"1. Place the Engine Start/Stop button in
the ON position"................................................................................ Have the car(started) running? (I have tried it both ways <running and Acc mode>)

--------"3. Press the number 1 button and push
forward the seat movement switch
over 2 seconds simultaneously."...................................................The forward button is located on the armrest(correct?). Also, it is stated later :

However, in the following cases, the
resetting procedure and the notification
sound may stop.

• The memory button is pressed........................................The memory button IS the #1 button????
• The driver’s door is closed................................................Is the driver's door to be opened with the rear door left open?

Like I said before, everything works in manual, it's just the memory (1 & 2 on door) and both the "rest/reset) buttons on door and every touch screen.

Thanks again for any help

I’ve reset all my seats after a battery swap and followed the instructions in the owners manual, which I copied above.
Turn the ignition on, that’s one punch without your foot on the brake. The engine remains off. You’ll need the FOB in the car. Leave it on through this process.
Get out of the car and close all four doors then open only the door by the seat you’re going to reset.
Using the seat adjustment switches and NOT sitting in the seat, move the seat all the way forward until it stops. Then move the seatback all the way forward until it stops. Now you know why to not be setting in the seat.
Next push FOWARD on the switch you used to move the seat forward and hold the number “1” memory button at the same time until you hear a beep, then let go of both and watch what happens. The seat will start moving by itself and when it stops you’ve completed the reset.
Close the door and go around and open the door by the next seat you’re going to reset and repeat the process.
If at first the process stops or doesn’t reset the seat, start over and try again.
When finished, remember to turn off the ignition.
This all came from the Manuel and worked on every seat for me. If this fails to work, the dealer can reset the seats through the OBD2 port. Good luck!

Looking to update and upgrade your Genesis luxury sport automobile? Look no further than right here in our own forum store - where orders are shipped immediately!
Thanks, but not for me ...I do not have a "SET" button. Sent email to Genesis. Will see what happens.
Yeah…I think the 1st generation G90 had a set button in front of the 1 and 2 memory positions.

Did you try using the 1, 2 or 3 button as the set button? Maybe hold one of the memory position buttons like it is the setup button, obviously favor number 1 first and see what happens if you don’t hear back from Genesis?

Looks like they got rid of the setup button and replaced it with the 3rd memory button.

Good luck.

Nice write up. I must have typed my response while you were typing yours or editing. I would have never posted mine had I read yours first. Or maybe the notification press jumped over your response.

Hopefully I find this post again if I ever need it.
