The GPS data base is stale. I am trying to get mine updated. I am not talking about sending corrections to https://mapnsoft.com/Default.asp

Once again, I am talking about how to get our/my cars updated.

Been getting the run-around for months now. The dealer is non-responsive and mapnsoft states the new stuff is ready to go and Hyundai Corporate emails me polite but inert responses.

My Genny GPS data base lags behind my $150 hand-held which I keep up to date for a few bucks a year.

There is an update to the map software. I had mine done and noticed vast improvement in the guidance quality. See this thread here, you may even qualify for free depending on when you purchased your car.

The updated map still doesn't show a road on Amelia Island built 15 years ago. Village court doesn't exist.. I reported it in March 2009... I have the 2010 map update... So much for reporting out of date missing information .....

They redid the 95/695/895 junction area around here last year and it is in the new update already. They likely don't consider a small road on an island a high priority.

Yes it is... Off the coast (barely) East of Jacksonville.. My parents are retired and live there full time. I can't use his address in the Navi, which is annoying.

I have the navigation package with the DVD feature and Touchscreen. I am getting the run-around. I am being told the update is available and also that the update is NOT available. If you know that there is an update available and how I can get that information to my dealer, I would really appreciate it.

I too have been getting the runaround. Currently, I've been told by Hyundai that the update exists, but my dealer doesn't actually have it in hand. See the posts on this topic in the electronics area of this forum. Hyundai sure knows how to annoy good customers.

I have a 2010 non touch screen and I have been trying to get someone who has the April and Sept 2010 updates to give me the version numbers
but to date no one has responded. If I can get this information I may be able to get down to the bottom of the update issue.

I just picked up my 2011 fully loaded 3.8. I'm not sure I have the latest gps version but the one thing I've noticed and not mentioned here, is the lack of street name turns. Geez, I have a free Mapquest app on my Iphone that does this and quite accurately.

Wow, the dealer finally called yesterday and the software/data base for my Genny has been ordered. I'll post back after it goes in for service (should be the week after next).

The tone and tenor of the call was totally different from my last experience with another service manager at the same dealership who sneeringly said "Oh, you want the latest and greatest!" What a jerk. This caller said "We understand your concerns and apologize for the delay and a loaner will be provided." A huge difference in 'tude'.

I recommend being persistent and courteous and sticking to the facts when you deal with Hyundai. It seems to have paid off in my case. Maybe, maybe not ... time will tell.

Persistence is the key word. I finally got mine updated yesterday. It cost me nothing. It would not have happen if I had not gotten MapNSOFT to e mail the info that I needed.

Scholar and MHT, what year and build month do each of you have? I have a 2010 April build date and have been told that mine is the latest.

2010 Genesis 4.6 V8 Build Date Feb. 18,2010
Old Map Version 03.00.00.2009.08.25.14
New Version 03.00.00 2010.04.30.10 if you do not have this version you do not have the latest version.
The key to all of this is to check your car and see what version you have and then make them give you version numbers and not dates.
In that your car was built in April you may have the latest version as the latest version was released in April but you need to check your car.
