  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Hyundai has not yet announced pricing on the 2012's, which is odd, considering the latest info is that they'll be arriving in dealerships in May.

However, expect the base 3.8L and 4.6L to go up slightly in price (I would guess only a couple hundred bucks, if that), and the 5.0L will be priced in the $45k to $50k range.

As soon as they release the prices... you will find them HERE: http://hyundainews.com/Media_Kits/2012_Models/Genesis/Pricing.asp

I check pretty much every day. No good.

Interesting to note that the Chrysler 300 C is doing same with another designer. I guess the head to head comparison will continue.

Where did you get this information? 'cause per Ricky Lao a couple of weeks ago, the OEM tire was still the Dunlop.

Looks like Base 3.8 will have Dunlops but Premium and higher packages will have Michelins:

Premium Package includes 18-in. hyper silver alloy wheels with 235/50R18 V-Let Michelin tires, power tilt-and-slide glass sunroof, tailored leather-wrapped dash and door trim inserts, integrated memory system, power tilt and telescopic steering column, power rear sunshade, Lexicon® 14-speaker surround sound audio, DVD Navigation system w/ 7-inch touchscreen display, rearview camera, power-folding outside mirrors, rain-sensing wipers w/ auto defogger windshield and NavTraffic with 90-day trial

Who wants to see a new pic of the TAU 5.0L engine?

By the way, I want that painted engine cover!

Michelin does not show an 235/50R18 V- Let tire. I am curious as to if this is a new tire made for the Genesis. Where did you get your information?

The R Spec at the NY Show had Michelins.

My information is from Hyundainews.com, which is posted by Hyundai:

http://hyundainews.com/Media_Kits/2012_Models/Genesis/Features.asp

Scroll to the bottom of the page and look at the premium package.

Thank you,the only two tires that Michelin has now in a 235-50-18 V are the Michelin Pilot Sport HX MXM4 (Grand Touring) and Michelin Energy Saver (Passenger).
I think 235-50- 18 V-Let may be V letter. Instead of saying V rated they may have been saying V letter. I just have a funny feeling that to improve the ride of the 18 " wheels they will go with a Michelin V Speed rated Grand Touring or Passenger Tire oppose to the Dunlop V rated Ultra High Performance Tire.

Sorry but in the 235-50-18 size Michelin offers(per mfg. website) four tires and they are the following:

Pilot® MXM4® (Speed Rating: H)
Latitude® Tour HP™ (Speed Rating: V)
Pilot® Sport A/S Plus (Speed Rating: Y)
Pilot® Sport PS2™ (Speed Rating: Y)

Michelin only offers 2 V rated tires for the Genesis with 235-50-18 97 V rated tires. When you go to the Official Michelin Web sight put in 2010 Genesis 4.6. The tires V rated will be Pilot HX MXM4 and Energy Saver A/S.
The Michelin Latitude is a light truck suv/ cross over tire. I know what I am talking about as I have the Michelin Energy Saver A/S 235-50-18 97V on order and will probably have it on the car Monday. I have also owned a set of Michelin Pilot HX MXM4 235-50-18 97V. I also said V rated not H, W, or Y.
The Michelin Pilot HX MXM4 is also offered in 235-50-18 97W.
The full description of the Michelin Pilot is Pilot HX MXM4

I stand corrected, I was only looking at size not speed rating too.

You can get all the specs for the 2012 from hyundai news website:

http://hyundainews.com/Media_Kits/2012_Models/Index.asp

It will even have US MSRP when that is released.

V6 and R-spec has GDI, but V8 4.6 does not.

has anyone seen any more info on release dates? i thought it was supposed to be out sometime this month.
