  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

This morning I backed out my 2009 3.8 Genesis w Tech Pkg (only 9k miles) from the garage and when I went forward, my Map came up on the screen and was scrolling wildly  I had not set it to Navigate and it was rolling like credits on a screen but rapidly. I had to switch out of map, go to radio and XM and back and then it was fine. Has anyone experienced this? I would have taken it straight to the dealership today except that I likely could not have recreated the problem. I have not updated the original map as 2009 models are costly to update and nothing I have seen indicates any appreciable changes with the update.

Um...you might want to check with a different dealership. My 2009 got its maps updated for free, and I believe it is supposed to be free of charge to original owners (at least it was last year). Again, you might want to shop it around a bit.

RE: your problem, no clue - just another of the many electrical system gremlins in a Genny.

The free update was only to those who purchased one of the very early Genesis models.
