  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Purchase Details so we all can prosper!

good deal louisd...

it just depends where you are located...

i know here in LA i can get that exact car for an easy $400 less than your deal...

but alot of east coast dealers can sit and demand very close to MSRP...

but the main consideration if a buyer is on the east coast is to not pay MSRP- since when they sell- they have more to lose than the west coast buyers- who because of more dealers and proximity to hyundai in LA- have better deals- which means when they sell or trade in- closer figures to the NADA books, etc- whereas if you pay MSRP or even more- not a good situation for resale value.

Bought a v6 premium this weekend, MSRP 35,000. Purchase price was 32,715. Had two dealers here in Milwaukee offering that.

Dave- looks like your deal was close to invoice.

since i know msrp of $36K (prem plus) has an invoice of $33,723.00

FYI.. The Costco price on the 4.6 w/Tech ($42k MSRP) is $39,411 including destination and not including any promotions that might lower the price. If you're a Costco member you can walk in to any affiliated Hyundai dealer and they have to honor that price (if they have a V-8). Note, that this is the "no haggle" price, however that doesn't mean you shouldn't haggle. I was able to get the dealer I bought from down another nearly $750.00 off the Costco price.

That's very useful information. Thank you. I made an offer to a local dealer for $39,500 and he didn't take it. Obviously, that offer has now been pulled. Time to go to $38,500.

In my area I have found that due to the lack of availability the dealers can still get window sticker and above for the 4.6 with tech. pkg. Ive tried AAA, USAA, Costco, and a few others but the dealers are still not budging. In fact a dealer that I was trying to work with on a car just sold (10/28) the one I wanted (blk/tan/tech) at window plus a 1,400 add on "bump"! I hope that this will change as more start to roll in.

I believe the price will come down in the near future. The Korean won has lost more than a third of its value against the US dollar since the first of July 2008. Anyone who has any money left in a few months will probably be in a good bargaining position.

Good point Richard!

Calvin -- Depending on how much hard ball you want to play, if you're a Costco member you can file a complaint through Costco about the dealer refusing to honor that price. Have seen the agreement the dealer signs it states that they will honor it down to the last car on the lot. They have no obligation to look for cars they can trade/get from another dealer, but if it's on the lot, they're required to sell it to you at the Costco price or they can lose participation in the program.

Yup, should be right around 250 under invoice. By the way, the info I found on Edmunds and KBB for invoice amounts is different than what the dealers here have been sharing with me. Edmunds and KBB are both low by about $150. Either that or the dealers each have added 150 hidden profit.
In any event I am happy with the price being below or near invoice.

Louisd - Can you tell me the costco price for the V-6 with Premium (msrp $35,000) Might be worth it to spend the $50 bucks to join Costco. Thanks.

Just arrived home with my new Platinum 4.6. I had it on order for 2 months. It was the third V8 sold in Phoenix, first with that dealer.

MSRP: $42,150 (included some kind of cargo mat) :\

Starting price: $41,455

-$750 Dealer Rebate
-$500 Discover Coupon

= $40,205
Residual (15k miles) 59% 24mo.
Money Factor: .00001

I rolled in almost 5k negative equity on my BMW X5 (thanks for not holding your value BMW!!) so my final payment is very skewed @ $875

I was told that they do not honor any Costco pricing on the Genesis even though I went through the formal process...I may let Costco know that. The dealer held all of the cards due to the availability issues and I couldn't wait any longer as my BMW was turning to dust. Normally I'd be fairly upset that I didn't get the best deal on the planet but driving the car home made me forget all about it. Fast and a complete luxury feel. Let's just hope I wake up feeling the same way....

Louisd;

Thanks for the info. If I wait long enough the color (blk/tan) I want might be available on the lot and they will honor the COSTCO price. After reading what Canam116 had to say it might be hard to wait. When I get my call from the dealer I will just have to see if I can live with the deal.

Hey where are you at? I'm in Phoenix/Scottsdale - what dealership?

Please send me a PM - I'd like to talk to you.

My 2006 Azera was supposedly the first one sold in AZ - Larry Miller Hyundai - 3 cars from them.

Superb service department - love the invoices where the total is 0.00.

Only problem my Azera is 15-16 mpg. GRRRRRR.

You can find that out yourself at:

$32,813.00[/QUote

Thanks for the info. I had gone to costhe site and found the msrp but didn't see where they posted the costco price. (where is it???) Also, without a memberfship # I couldn't locate a dealer. The $32813 sounds good go the Northeast where inventory is slim.

The only way to get it is to physically go to a Costco dealer.

When i filled in my zipcode and choose the selected car it came right up: MSRP & costco price. I didn't even have to fill in my costcomember number

Please let us know how that turns out. These dealers take the Costco business because it drives sales, and as far as I know they aren't allowed to pick and choose which models they can sell through the program. Congratulations on the new car, but I think you could have gotten a better price if you stuck to your guns.
