  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Constructive suggestions to improve the Genesis

Main things that I would like to see Genesis add are:

  • AWD

  • Selectable suspension i.e. Sport/Tour

  • Paddle Shifter

At least the first two are a must especially on the R-Spec for me to buy Genesis as my next car.

1. AWD
2. Blind spot monitoring
3. Fold down rear seats
4. Normal cruise option with the smart cruise control
5. Power folding side view mirrors
6. Vocal climate control command
7. Separate memory FOBs for each driver
8. Visible Bluetooth symbol on map screen when phone is on board

Is there any aftermarket availability of blind spot monitoring? I recently rode in a rental car that had an indicator light in the side mirrors when any car was in the blind spot. I thought it was a great safety feature and cannot imagine that it is very expensive.

...the auto wipers should trigger the auto headlights. I am not suggesting that the lights go on when there is a single drop of water on the windshield, but if there is real rain the headlights should be triggered. Headlights should always be on in the rain, even if it is not dark outside (this happens with some frequency here in South Florida).

I would add these for consideration:

1. Option to have accessory power ports continuously powered (hot from battery)
2. Additional function of rain-sensing windshield circuit: ensure sunroof is closed if and when ignition is off
3. Digital version of owner's manual viewable on DVD screen
4. Must BlueTooth instantly vanish when ignition is turned off? Delay to permit continuation of phone call
5. Better design of coat hook and add a right side coat hook.
6. Steering wheel mounted audio mute switch.

I consider BSM (Blind Spot Monitoring) one of the truly great innovations to come to light with new cars. It’s a little sad to think that such a nicely technically endowed vehicle as a Genesis would not consider such a leading safety feature. I think because of its obvious safety advantages it will be standard issue in the future. I know for myself this is an area of great concern as it is an “Achilles” heel for me. It was one of reasons I considered a Lincoln MKS (Ford) when making my decision.

i agree it's a great feature.

I agree….In the absence of any helpful electronic assistance I will have to modify my default mirror adjustment position accordingly. Since it has been a source of great concern lately. I’ve read about this approach before but never really tried it. Too used to the old fashion way … you know always wanting to see a little of the side of the car from the driving position.
Thanks
