  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Tire Rack has several new performance brake products up on their website for 2012 Genny 3.8, 4.6 and 5.0 including ceramic pads, high performance street/race pads and high performance rotors. Hawk, Centric and Power Slot products are listed. The prices seem reasonable.

With under 8000 miles, my R-Spec is obviously too new to need brakes, but the thought of replacing the OEM pads with ceramic some day is intriguing. I am interested in long rotor life and low brake dust. Does anybody have experience with ceramic brake components?

Replaced OEM pads on my formerly owned 740il with Okebono ceramic pads and never looked back. No dust at all. Also a different break in procedure in that you do not forcefully bed the pads with high speed stops.

Did not know our pads were ceramic. Of course never experienced any dust on front wheels so should have known better. Nothing worse than constantly having to clean wheels.

Yes -- most BMW and Volvo owners will agree with you on that.
