You're the final judge on the deal you received. If you are happy it is a good deal.
In the Washington DC area they are selling from $40K - $43K. Price depends on color and availability. Also as the year passes the prices are going down and incentives such as $500 cash back have come out. I know someone that just paid $40K in VA. I paid more but got the color I wanted back in March and am happy with the deal I received.
IMHO, I would say you got an OK deal at best. Also while demos can be a good deal; I would not want a demo of a performance car. Those could be some HARD miles as potential buyers test the cars performance.
The auomotive press considers the car a god buy at MSRP. In the end it sounds like you got the car you wanted for a price you were willing to pay. You're backed by the best warranty in the business and can purchase an extended warranty if you want more. Enjoy your R-Spec!!!
