  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

I have 3 Bluetooth phones - one old one, and two new ones.

The old phone worked fine with my Genesis, as does my brand new Blackberry Curve 9300.

However, my wife's new LG Optimus S phone, with its Android operating system, just will not sync. with my car.

The folks at the dealer were unable to suggest anything, nor were the folks at LG or at Sprint.

Do you have any ideas why two phones sync with my car, but the 3rd won't do so? (The car can handle many more phones, its just my LG Android Optimus that is giving me trouble).

I'm reluctant to get another brand phone, I really like the function of the Android O/S. But if I can't find a solution, its back to blackberry, I guess.

Thanks,

Dave

My LG phone would not synch either (a different model than yours). I replaced it and the new phone is fine.

It would appear that the Bluetooth standard has some loopholes.

Both my Droid and my Droid2 work without a hitch, so I don't think it's Android.

Looking to update and upgrade your Genesis luxury sport automobile? Look no further than right here in our own forum store - where orders are shipped immediately!
My LG Shine used to sync with the Genesis. Last year the dealer updated the software for the DIS system. The phone still syncs but cannot receive or dial out calls:(

Thanks for your reply. Did you find another android phone (not from LG) that worked?

My local Sprint store only had LG androids ($50 afer sign-up); The Blackberry is not an equivalent phone, but it looks like the best of the alternatives without getting into some serious money.

BocaDave - it's likely the Bluetooth or network setup of your phone...I had a problem with my phone connecting and disconnecting over and over again...I reconfigured the Bluetooth within the phone's setup and haven't had a problem since. I am using a Droid Incredible so I'm not sure if the setup is similar.

Bigel -- I'm having the same issue with my HTC Droid Incredible. What did you do specifically, pretty please, to fix it? :-)

I wasn't able to try other androids, so at the moment the Blackberry is the only one that works for sure.

But look at another posting in this same section - apparently someone has figured out how to customize settings so at least one model works, and maybe others.

By copy of this note to Bigel, I ask that he post the specific settings he used so we can all give it a try.
