12.5 Map Update

Bubba G80 Sport...this was happening to me also. Even Genesis couldn't get into the Mapnsoft site as well. Let's just say it was messed up. But as of 30 minutes ago, 3:00PM ET, it was/is up and running properly. I was able to successfully place my order for V12.5 for my 2017 G80 8" Touch. I have a confirmation email from Genesis MapCare. One tip, when you can place your order, as long as you select "Bill GMA" on the ordering page, you can select 2 day Fed EX shipping at no charge. It was show a charge, but it goes to Genesis. Good luck.

I just now (3:50pmEST) successfully placed my order and receive a confirmation e-mail. I took your suggestion and did 2 day Fed EX shipping.
Cost was $25.00 (SD card/maps) + $10.97 (S+h) to be billed to GMA.

Wow, I was able to place my order too--2018 G80 5.0 purchased 7-2-18. Thanks for the tip about "Bill GMA" I've been waiting for the Mapnsoft site to work ever since I bought the car since the version in the car was outdated when it was delivered.

Don’t know what package you have on your Genny, but my update confirmation says it’s for the 9.2” HD touch screen..

Just called Genesis customer care and was advised that the reason the update is not available is that there was something wrong with the programing itself for the update and the programers recalled it! Was advised to check back at the end of the month.

Hueydriver....regardless what Customer Care has told you, if you bought your 2018 in July 2018, you aren't eligible for the first update until July 2019. There is supposed to be a one year wait period between the three complementary updates. If others got it sooner, good for them. The Mapnsoft site may have VIN database glitches that allowed this. No need to rush your updates. When the three free updates are used, it's over. You might want to time them to get the last update toward the end of your three year period. Now, with the update timing rules, this is what you have to do..Anyway, the Mapnsoft worked perfectly for me on Monday. Ordered second update one year after the first update which was one year ago...in December, my purchase month. Before writing this, I logged onto Mapnsoft and it looks fine to me. It says I am "currently up to date and no updates are available for my Genesis". This is because I just order 12.1 two days ago. I will become eligible for the 3rd and final update in Dec. 2019. You won't be able to get every update that comes out unless you want to pay for them.

We'll have to wait and see how it plays out. Just ordered my second update in 13 months. According to what you posted I should just be getting the first. I think they have no clue.

I was not going to bother with this one, but in a couple of weeks I'm taking a 1400 mile trip so having the POIs up to date can be handy.

pmcjr….Are you sure about that? I bought my 5.0 Ultimate on August 31st and ordered my update yesterday evening. Earlier today I got a confirmation that it had shipped.

rbwillnj....I'm only sure to the point that what I posted is consistent with what Genesis has told me over the last few weeks and is also consistent with how the Mapnsoft site has worked for me. I had checked frequently to see if I was offered an update only to get the message "no update was available" and lo and behold on December 1, it said V12.5 was available and I able to order it. Dec. 1 was the first day of my purchase month anniversary. Beyond that I don't know. It is possible, I guess, that the Mapnsoft database is not 100% accurate regarding VINs and purchase dates. My order is also in shipment. Good for us.

EdP...remember 13 months ago Genesis did not have the once a year on anniversary date month update rule. I think they were giving out updates whenever you asked for it.
