In my personal case the officer wrote that I was a female. He wrote Vin, car,name , driver license, everything but the sex correctly. I quote the judge, "since you are clearly not a female I can not find you guilty". I understand municipal court judges sometimes base their decisions on opinion then law but the law is in your favor in your particular case. It's not about money it is about the OP keeping his car without a license plate. If he doesn't get found guilty he can keep rolling without the plate and when he gets his second ticket it will be his first offense.

I'm not a lawyer, so my opinion is simply that.

I'm fairly certain the driver gets the ticket, not the car. Despite what is going on in our society today, I'm guessing police officers are expected to be able to differentiate between the sexes. Being able to name every car on the road when many are de-badged is likely not a part of an officer's job description.

The officer calling Fight4Hemp a female is going to have a difficult time attesting the fact that Fight4Hemp was in fact driving the car, I suspect.

It will be up to the Judge on a case by case basis.
If you want to give it a try, you can go perjure yourself, or simply admit responsibility with an explanation and ask the judge or magistrate for leniency or a break.
Chances are if you wanted to fight it, these days the officer can refer to his in-car video recording and recall the event. If you tie up the courtroom with some smoke and mirrors it will only pi** off the judge and he will give you the maximum fine.
Take this from a guy who has adjudicated thousands of traffic tickets, for what its worth.

Not that I'm arguing your advice, but how does standing there and saying I don't *have* a Bentley "perjure" myself. I'm not lying or mis-representing the facts by saying that!

Paid the 10.00 fine and have the picture of the ticket as a memento...

It may come as a surprise to some here that a vehicle's license plate is tied to a database that details the vehicle's brand, as well as VIN number. Of course, those living in mom and dad's basement are probably not aware of that. Funny, too, how insulting a cop doing his/her job enforcing the law makes some folks feel superior in intelligence.
