  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Hi everyone. I'm looking into buying a gen and was wondering what everyones thoughts were between the 2.0T and the V6. I had a dodge SRT-4 before this and was trying to get a feel what car would be better for modifications. From what I have seen it seems that there are far more products available for the 2.0T. I'm definitely a driving enthusiast and am looking for the best trim for fun, performance, modification and reliability. It wouldn't be my primary driver. Any major points that you could bring to my attention would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks everyone

depends if you want to mess with the turbo on a car or not. 3.8 has more power stock while the turbo you will have to mod to get there. Plus some cash out of your pocket. Pros and cons personal preference, me personally I would not have the turbo. The added heat under the hood over time cooks everything. Turbo replacement is a huge cost. Burning of the oil in the turbo gets back into the motor which in turn does not help it either. If you read of the mods guys do to over boost their turbos, BOOM baby. There went your ride get out the check book. This is only my opinion and experience with changing these turbos.

I was in the same boat... after reading up on turbo's it just seemed to much "risk", so I stuck with traditional injection and went with the V6. Lots of power stock which is really, all you need.
