Once I get the car I’ll find a set of 18” wheels to test fit. If they clear, that’s the route I’ll go. I will be able to get a set of wheels & tires for $2K all-in.

Will do. The plan right now is 255/55/18 Michelin X-Ice snows on alloy wheels in the $250 range, with a preference for something lighter. Right now, waiting toco firm 18s will fit, and trolling a few different places for something that goes on sale.

Genesis HQ confirmed to me yesterday that 18s will fit...even the Performance.

Yeah. They offer an 18" combo on the website at the time of order, but the front brake & caliper combo looks like it will be a tight fit. The Genesis OEM wheels may fit, but I'm not 100% sure all aftermarket 18s would - which is why I'm looking to test fit a set before I buy any rubber.

Tire Rack test fits everything they sell. It's a great reference for wheels/tires. The GV60 isn't listed yet, but I doubt it will be long before they have wheels listed.

I bought a set of rims that were on sale today to use as winters and they fit perfectly. They were 18x8s with a 42 offset, came in at about 23 lbs each, so will work nicely.
There was plenty of space between the callipers and wheel drum. For those looking at aftermarket wheels, the greater concern will likely be whether the spokes clear the callipers.

It’s worth noting that the OE wheels are 21x8.5 with a 43.5 offset, not 54.5 as reported on wheel-size.com.

Remember that it is IMPERATIVE to match the center bore and not only the offset and bolt pattern.

I, very much, prefer hub-centric wheels, but would stop short of saying they are an imperative. So long as you get a wheel with a larger bore, you can get rings to properly seat them.

Personally, I'm going with an 18" set to save money and weight, and get better range.

Totally understand... how about you share the info about what exactly you ordered... rims and tires.. (product # etc) this will for sure help other take a better decision based on the size (etc) they prefer...

As I stated in an earlier post, I tend to go cheap with rims, but never sacrifice tire quality.

I went with a set of 18x8" CRW GT1 wheels with a 43.5 offset. Fit is excellent, they are hub-centric, and they weigh only 23lbs each.

I'll be going with a set of 255/55/18 Michelin X-Ice Snows. I'll pick them up whenever I see a sale.

I've never used studded tires. I'm not sure how I'd feel about the road noise. I also wonder how they'd impact rolling resistance and therefore, range.

Cool... and thanks Looney100 for the information. As for Studded tire... onces you go with those... you never go back... for road noise.. in winter time... depending on the make and studs... the noise is a lot less then running a 1500 truck in summer... aslo... the quality of the GV60 cuts a lot of road noise.. (from what i was able to realize in the road test i did with it) also... and unfortunately... in Ontario.. studs are not allowed... in Quebec there is no problem.

Lastly... from my own experience.. on all of my car/truck... the studded tires last a good 4 winter...

To be honest... it will be the first time i will buy Michelin winter tires.... especially studded... and i will for sure give my opinion on them as soon as i can...

I bought the identical wheels recently for my daughters' Jetta. Seem like decent quality and 16" ones were only $130. And they are hub centric as a bonus.

My winter set is coming together. The rims are in the garage, bought while discounted. TPMS sensors have arrived and are on the tool chest, the set of lug bolts will arrive later this week from Amazon, and I've just placed an order for the Michelin's - which are now $150/set off at Costco.
Everything should be ready to go by the end of July.

I also got a TPMS programmer, but after some subsequent reading, it may not be necessary.

I needed lugs because the rims I bought have small bolt holes and while the OE bolts will fit in, I can't fit a socket around them. Depending on what you buy, you may be able to stick with the OE lugs.
