  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Hello All,
I'm recently picked up a 2009 4.6. Really happy with the car. I've been doing a ton of research into 20" rims. I've had serious difficulty finding what I consider the right match for the lines of the car. I'm not a fan of rims that look aftermarket.. if that makes sense. Interested in something that would resemble a factory option. I have narrowed it down to two rims. The first is the Niche Ritz (staggered) - see image. Not the best photo shop but you get the idea. Seems to have some common design elements to the factory 18" - slightly split spoke.

The second is a pic I'm probably gonna get some crap for but here it goes. I think the Bentley Continental rims look the absolute best. Not because they are Bentley rims but just the overall design and match to the Gen's lines. I found some rims but the bolt pattern and hub bore would need to be altered. Found a place that will do it.... just not sure I want to go that for with it.

Thoughts?

Welcome to the forum... The Niche rims look better to me than the Bentleys...

The Niche wheels look really goooood. Came out of lurk mode to say that. ;)

With no change in suspension you may not like the extra rough ride with 20 s on the 2009.

Bentley rims look horrible and odd to my, just my .02

I do not like the look of a 5 spoke double split rim, 7 spoke splits look much better IMHO and closer resemble a factory rim style.

Neither. I like the idea of the bentley wheels, seen it done before. But i dont like that specific one. 2012 continental gtc wheels look good.

Might want to take into consideration what effect changing the diameter of the wheels has on the performance of the car.
Things like shift points odometer indications etc. Ride, comfort and appearance should not be the only considerations when contemplating replacement of OEM wheels.
Here’s a calculator that you can use to compare the replacement wheels and tires to the OEM.

Fitment aside, I like the look of the Niche wheels of the two you have posted.

I do not have a set, but I am a fan of Vossen and what they have been doing. There are some very 'stock' looking wheels within their portfolio, but they have the more aggressive offset as well as concave design available.

Rotiform will be a bit more expensive but their wheels are quite nice also, as another reference should you chose to shop around.

The Niche's do look very nice on the Genesis and flow pretty well. Good choice!

If there was a safe way to widen an RSpec wheel an inch or 2 those would look badass in the rear. Put some 275s on the back and it would be perfection.

getting as close to oem size both front and back is important for all the reasons you listed

here is another good calculator

you could be right. Just don't know until I drive one with 20's on it. Anybody willing to ship me their 20's for the weekend?! :p

I like vossen very much.... so damn expensive. If Rotiform are even more, fugitaboutit.

I stand corrected. Traditionally you would need 3pc wheels to change offset and/or width, barring spacers (offset).

I wonder what the cost of this would be? Is it cost effective?

Wheels can absolutely be widened. Go to this website, they have been doing it for a long time. The GTO people used this company because of the weird offset and lack of aftermarket wheels for the Aussie GTO.

Yes, wheels can be widened just fine if done correctly. I've had weldcraft do a set of wheels for a 10sec. track car with many passes and no issues. The front wheels on my genesis currently were narrowed. Anyone that knows metallurgy should understand that the wheel will be just as strong. But i emphasis it HAS to be done RIGHT!!!

No worries. Sorry the bigass pics. I dont think i can resize a web image. Only thing is price, im sure price is gonna be fairly high on some bentley wheels unless you find a good deal.
