2009 Genesis alternator change

Can't get the alternator loose in my 09 genesis help!

Well. My auto zone replacement lasted just over 2 years. Installed July 5 2018. About to do it again right now. Limited Lifetime warranty so hoping it’s free to exchange for a new one

Yup pull the dead one out and exchange for a new Or rebuilt I should say If you can upgrade to their top tier I would last time I tried it wasn’t available

Replaced the alternator successfully today I posted at the top of this thread about how to change the alternator from the bottom. Later someone said you can do it from the top. I did it from the top today. I am am now Thinking I would rather fight the bracket underneath than remove it from the top. Lots of clearance issues from the top. Transmission lines were in the way of the alternator and the fan shroud was wedged in there pretty good as well. Just wanted to try from the top to see if it was easier. Everyone has their opinion this is just mine.

Know this thread is old but am having the same problem battery dead overnight battery drain while running I lose power steering intermediately. Just changed the alternator 2 months ago have since gone thru 4 batteries. Is this the alternator any advice would be greatly appreciated

It sounds like the alternator. Need to check voltage of the battery with a meter and the car running. They can probably do it for free at auto zone. Should be 13-14 volts with the car running. If less then likely a bad alternator. They may be able to test your alternator as well but you probably have to take it off and bring it inside. Not sure if they still bench check them but they used to.
