  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Electronic parking brake with automatic hold option too.

Looks like Lexicon/DIS system is unchanged. The touchscreen nav appears to a separate option package. No HD radio tuner on the touchscreen system.

No year XM bundle on the Tech package--90 days only.

Styling is unchanged. No rear seat entertainment or front camera. :(

Thanks for the heads up!

I'm glad they made the NAV system a stand alone option. I definitely would have went for it assuming it's affordable (e.g. $1250) like it is on the Sonata. It's looking more and more likely that if I don't decide to keep my Genesis for the long-term I will upgrade to a 2011/2012 Genesis.

Also new is "Ultra-premium leather seating surfaces" available as an option on the 3.8..

The new touch screen system also deletes the cd changer. Just a single disc CD/DVD slot.

I would rather have the current nav system and keep the CD changer. After trying XM for a few days, I wrote it off as not worth listening to. I have copied tons of my favorite CDs onto multiple DVDs and I can listen to so many hours of my favorites in the changer that I never tire of what I hear.

If you get the Tech package you still get the changer. Isn't that the only way to get navigation? I'm not sure that there are stand alone options, but I can't really tell by the way they list them. All of the features that they show as options are in the tech package, aren't they? I'm new to the Genisis scene, so I'm not sure, but that's how it looks to me.

EDIT - okay, looking back I see that Nav is standard on the 4.6 without the tech package.

Does anyone yet have any information as to whether any dealers are showing any 2010 Genesis sedans information in their pipe lines yet? I remember once my dealer saw them on his computer he could expect them in around 2-3 weeks after that.

I have talked to three different local dealers and they all say fall arrival. They did say however there is a possibility they could begin arriving any time. They claimed they started building them in late June early July.

I am most interested in test driving several to compare the suspension to my 2009 4.6 Genesis as I am sure many current owners are. Thanks!

MAYBE A LITTLE MORE GOOD NEWS!

I zoomed in on the pic of the black one and looked at the tires, NO DUNLOPS,
Nexxen 5000, Funny, these are the tires I just switched to. Great grip in the wet, low noise and should get at least 35K miles.
Gray car shows Dunlops, perhaps a choice??

I don't see where it says that. Under Features it says the Premium Package adds a CD changer and the Premium Navigation deletes HD radio (no mention of the CD changer being deleted).

Premium Package
includes 18-in. hyper silver alloy wheels with 235/50R18 tires, ultra-premium leather seating surfaces, tailored leather-wrapped dash and door trim inserts, integrated memory system, power tilt and telescopic steering column, power rear sunshade, Lexicon® 14-speaker surround sound audio, 6-disch CD-changer, HD radio technology and rain-sensing wipers with auto defogger windshield

Premium Navigation Package (requires premium package) includes touch-screen navigation system with NavTraffic, rear backup warning camera and deletes HD radio technology

Technology Package
(requires Premium Plus Packing for 3.8L V6) includes 17-speaker 7.1 Lexicon® discrete audio system, 6-disc in-dash DVD changer navigation system, rear backup warning camera, Driver Information System (DIS), multimedia controller, HID and adaptive (auto-cornering) headlights, front and rear parking assistance sensors, Bluetooth hands-free with display, smart cruise control, electric parking brake with auto hold, NavTraffic with 90-day trial and cooled driver seat

The 2010 media kit states that the 3.8 base model will come with a sunroof standard. That will bump the base model price by arouind $1,000 and comes as a disappointment to those of us who value the extra headroom.

I'm seriously confused. The 4.6 with tech package says it does have HD radio. How can the tech package have HD radio? Does the $4000 tech package not have the "premium nav package"? I can't imagine the tech package not having the top of the line nav. I'm sure I'm missing something.

The Technology package will have the same Lexicon system and GPS as in the current 2009 model. The Premium Nav package is a middle-tier option package and probably priced accordingly. They're different forks in the road, so to speak--the touchscreen nav isn't better or top of the line...it's just a different nav in probably a less expensive option package.

"and cooled driver seat "

They couldn't have added that to the passenger seat?

Maybe they don't read this site...

They have to leave something for 2010 and beyond. I'd personally like to see them add a height adjustment for the passenger seat before they worry about adding butt coolers. :)

That's how I read it.

I really hope it gets a version of the Sonata's touch screen Nav. The graphics are superb (not sure how they compare to the current Tech Pkg. Nav system), and I personally prefer touch screens to controllers. I wonder if 2009 owners like myself would be able to swap out the OEM headunit for this new Premium Package Nav system. It would be pricey no doubt, but I wonder if it is possible.

Sonata NAV screen shots for reference:

Touch screen V. controller.

I have touch in wife's honda. the screen is never clean, fingerprints are a problem and in some light make it hard to read... (reflected sunlight).

I really like that it is an option not replacing the DIS controller. choose which option you prefer.

Everything is a tradeoff. I find the touch screen much easier to use provided the screen is within easy reach.

As far as fingerprints, just carry this in your glovebox/center console and give it a quick cleaning (less than 30 seconds every week).

Like you said, at least they are giving the option of the two. Too bad they don't give you the option if you pick the Tech Package. I know some people to this day who refuse to use i-drive like controller knobs.

Everybody to their own choice. If it has only a touch screen, that would be a deal breaker for me. I don't like the mess that they make. I would hope that any NAV system they have has a more up-to-date data base. The data on my 09 is WAY out of date.
