  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

2010 Genesis Sedan Specs

Everybody to their own choice. If it has only a touch screen, that would be a deal breaker for me. I don't like the mess that they make. I would hope that any NAV system they have has a more up-to-date data base. The data on my 09 is WAY out of date.

Just like nearly every other NAV system in existence. Street/GPS databases aren't updated in real time. Honda, BMW, Toyota/Lexus, Mitsubishi, Hyundai, it does not matter. I've owned vehicles w/ OEM NAV systems in each (excluding Hyundai) and every one had map data that was at least 2-3 years out of date.

My aftermarket Pioneer NAV data is about 4 years old and the update SD cards are back-ordered. :(

The 09 Sonata uses a flash memory chip for the map database. You update it via DVD. It updates both the Firmware and the map db. However, it requires you to enter a NAV ID which then spits out a security code. The security code is used so that you can't use it on more than one car. You must call mapnsoft to get the code though you might be able to do it online.

"and cooled driver seat "

They couldn't have added that to the passenger seat?

Maybe they don't read this site...

Well, that does it for me. I have been waiting to see what the 2010 would be like. My wife told me there are four things she had to have that we have now: back-up camera, cooled seats, height adjustable seats and keyless start/entry. Ever since we got the keyless start/entry she has never had to take her keys out of the big bag she wears and never can find anything within 5 minutes of looking!

We may keep the Lexus GS350 for a few months and see what else shows up from other manufacturers.

What is the cost for the Sonata GPS map update?
Thanks

$199.00 and it updates the Map DB and the firmware to v_015. There will probably be a new update early next year and if you pre order it they'll discount the update.

So, we are saying that the 2010 will have two different Nav systems available? That is certainly a first.

I am sure I will be slammed, but I will say this anyway . . . . . . . whose got the inside track on the info here? If I can recall, according to some publications, the '09 was supposed to have the electronic park brake and intelligent cruise. When it finally showed up, that stuff was missing. Things change fast and furious with these cars. There is no need to get excited or disappointed until the first '10's show up at the dealership with all of these new packages/options.

Just my 2 cents worth. :D

The link is in the 1st post. This info. is straight from Hyundai and corroborated by all of the major automobile publications.

I saw it. Read it. But still need to see it.

I notice that you had a M35. I currently have a CTS, but the car I had before it was a 06 M45 Sport. How do you compare the Genesis to the M you had?

More bells and whistles on the fully loaded M, at a higher price of course. But a much better ride from the Genesis. I thought the Sport M rode extremely harsh. Maybe that is why I don't notice the well documented issues with the Genesis suspension. ;)

For those of you like to keep your suits wrinkle free the 2010 Gen has dual coat hangers at the back. Only one in the 09 Gen.

That should be easy to swap out and add to the '09. :)

OK, Moose, I can't take it any more: I must agree with you. Until I see (and test drive) the 2010 at a dealership, I'll wait and contain any possible excitement over what is and isn't an improvement. :p

If I had one wish about the 2010 it is that the suspension be adjustable for all the folks who don't like the 2009 suspension. But that ain't gonna happen. :(

Hehe, I just realized that there was only one hanger just this week! :)

Having only one hook (right behind the driver) is a safety issue, since anything hanging on the other side is going to block vision out that window (which one may not realize when until already driving and need to change to a right-hand lane). I find it hard to believe that having a hanger on both sides is really a need for the vast majority of owners.
