  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Welcome to the posts Dustin!

Welcome Dustin and thanks for the Specs.

So they did add the cooled drivers seat and I'd have to see the 14 spoke wheels, I really like the current 7 spoke. Not enough there for me to consider trading in my 09' V8tech. THough I'll drive one to check it out. Only 90 day on the XM on all trim levels, interesting

**Unless they are considering the 7 spoke 14 because they are split**

I have these (very same wheels I purchased from DUB) 14 spokers, 18" to use as my 4 snow tire winter change overs. They came with the Dunlops so I have a new set to use at a later time.

These wheels were offered on the very first Genny's - wondering if they are offered again on 2010's. Dustin?

Mike

Just picked up a 2010 V8 tech. The 14 spoke wheels are the same as the 2009's. I guess they count the split.

I was wondering the same thing. You answered my question.

One interesting point, is that they dropped the second compartment under the center arm rest. Now there is just a little cubby. I guess this saved $2

Are you sure about that? On the 2009 only Tech models got the 2-tier armrest. I would expect the same to be true of 2010. Did you sit in a 2010 w/ the Tech Package?

I have the 2010 4.6 with the tech package and it does have the two tiered armrest

Crupp, why is that weird? He's saying his armrest is just like the one in your 2009.

Instead of having a single compartment like the non-tech models, his armrest opens up to a small tray on the top and a lower main compartment below it. At least, that's how I understand it.

 you are correct sir. Speed reading through post this afternoon. My bad

What is "Auto-Defogging Windshield". Is this new for the 2010's? Because I've never had my windshield fog up, I don't know if I have it or not.

I believe the "Auto-Defogging" feature is standard on all Genesis with Premium or Tech packages. It is activated by the button to the left of the 'DUAL' selector on the HVAC panel. When it detects moisture inside the car and a significant temperature differential between inside and outside, it puts the A/C on in Recirculating mode with airflow directed at the windshield and side windows.

Auto Defogging was on the 2009 models as well (I do believe that it was only on certain trims for 2009.)

A few updates:
The suspension change for 2010 involved the rear suspenion ONLY. As for what exactly was changed, I am not sure. (Im going to assume they have made the ride more supple.)

That only the rear was changed makes sense. According to a HMA employee on the Hyundai Think-Tank web site, the suspension changes were to "shock and spring rates". My guess is that the springs were made softer and the shocks made firmer.

There were also changes to bushings (according to same source), but that may be for the "steering improvements" in front (not sure). I would assume that the 2010 tracks a little straighter.

Actually, you are right in that the 2010 I sat in was likely not a 4.8/Tech. So, good, because we like the two level armrest.

Has the price of the 2010 4.6 jumped a lot? I thought there was only a minor price increase?

The base 3.8 was supposed to be $33,000, if I remember right. Don't know how the other trim packages compare to last year.

Attached is the sticker on a 4.6 Tech that was on my dealer's lot last week.

YEAH MARK, I THINK YOU ARE RIGHT........I READ A REVIEW RECENTLY THAT DESCRIBES THE ISSUES I HAVE WITH MY CAR......IT SAID THE REAR SPRINGS AND SHOCKS ARE TOO STIFF, YOU FEEL THE REAR END POGING ON L.A.'s THUMPTY-THUMP FREEWAYS, AND JIGGLING AROUND ALMOST EVERYWHERE ELSE. IT NEEDS MORE COMPLIANCE AND BETTER REBOUND CONTROL..ALL OF THIS STUFF IS EASILY FIXED....IMO THESE PARTS OF THIS REVIEW FROM MOTOR TREND BEST EXPLAIN MY EXPERIENCE.....IT WOULD BE NICE IF WE COULD JUST CHANGE THOSE PARTS...
