  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

hey guys! just wondering what the 0-60 time on the 2011 3.8 v6 sedan is.

i was surprised to see that the new 5.0 v8 rspec sedans are getting sub-5 second times! i should have splurged and gotten a v8

seeing as the v8 is getting 5.3ish and it has - give or take - 100 more hp and lb-ft of torque than the v6, i'm guessing that the 2011 3.8 v6 is getting somewhere around 5.7, with the assumption that esc is disengaged and the car is launched perfectly.

oh and another question - do any of you 2011 v6 sedan owners feel a jerk/jolt when you shift from reverse to drive? i'll be reversing out of my driveway and switch the car into first and at times, once i let out the brake in drive, the car will sort of jerk forward. its best described as letting out the clutch too early, for those of you familiar with manual transmissions. should i be worried about this? my baby is reaching 105,000km soon so she's been driven quite a while.

V6 0-60's are all over the place depending on the reviewer. 5.4s 0-60 and 13.9s (quarter mile) is the fastest I've seen, but that's for the upgraded 2012-2014 with 333hp. Of course, Edmunds (without a 1ft roll out) timed this same engine at 6.4s 0-60.

The pre-2012 V6 is around 5.9s 0-60 at best from what I've seen. Personally, with intake, cat delete and exhaust I've timed my 2012 V6 at around 5.5s with a roll out and around 5.8 without the roll out. This was unofficially timed with a camera on the speedo.

This was without a brake stand, but with the ESC turned off. I like to compare the 2012+ V6 to the pre-2012 4.6 in straight line acceleration up to 60 (free way acceleration is a different story).

Don't know about your transmission issue. I had a clunk in mine at one point when I started from a dead stop, but I don't notice anymore. My unit is the newer 8-speed auto too so that doesn't help you much. Maybe consider getting a transmission flush/fluid change? Just spit-balling here.

Hope this helps.
