  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

2011 4.6 v8

Good luck, can't wait to see the results!.

I am praying that he complete the 5.0 ECU work while he is here, so I don't have to steal the Mrs car, especially if they manage to disable the ESC as part of this tune...

I am hoping they can figure out a solution for the ESC with this tune.

It will take time. I have good news for 4.6 owners though. New thread to come

New thread up guys - we have a solution, need a car!

I'm not in Chicago. lol. The tuner is in town for their SEMA build, so we're tagging on.

What are you referencing? I am having my 4.6 tuned by BTR this coming weekend.

send him to Florida - we have nice weather down there!

See the thread Chicagoland 4.6 v8 (or similar name)

Short version.

Cracked ecu
Tuned car (with intake /exhaust) made decent power / tq increase
Wait for more details...soon.

Fairly tame gains - if I recall correctly, something like 15hp. Uncertain as to the torque gains. The map is pretty cool, since everything seems available much earlier that the stock curve. They were able to completely disable the ECU, so that adds to the fun of things. Sam will have to chime in with his experiences - he drove the tune cross country already, so has some great feedback.

I was unable to call BTR last week - I will do so this week and follow up.

If I recall correctly peak horsepower at the wheels increased by 11hp and peak torque was up by 17hp or so. Peak figures don't tell the whole story though as torque looks to have increased by a healthy margin throughout the entire power band based on the dyno graph. Particularly in the lower RPM's it looks like 25 wheel torque or so which is a healthy gain in an area where you'll notice it as the car spends most of its time in the lower revs. It's also important to understand that these are gains on a car with bolt ons mods (intake, exhaust, test pipes) which means that the differential between a completely stock car and a tuned car with bolt ons will be even greater. We'll see what else BTR can do with it but the current gains look good.

^^what he said

I'd purchase this flash when available to the public. I'd be willing to bet the tune would make more power without an intake too:cool: Anyone know when and if this is available?

The test car had intake and exhaust with secondary cat deletes.

The ECU may not be able to be tuned for the 5.0 yet, but is there any possibility for the transmission?

I was running the canyons and every time I approached redline but wanted to stay in gear the car would decide to shift for me, even though I hadn't hit the shifter. Most annoying when punching it out of a corner only to realize I was in a new gear.

What about the Rev limiter? Can that be moved up to around 7k?

I will ask these questions when I next speak with them. I emailed late last week, but I know they shut down for some R&R after the SEMA build. I'll update as I am able...

Still no data on the numbers increase?
