  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Does anybody know if Hyundai is still using Dunlops on the 2011?

Yes, they are using the exact same tire as they have been...wish I had better news to give you there. I forgot to include the pictures I took of the tires but they are definitely the same.

If you do talk to the service tech, see if you can find out if there is any way to suppress the annoying start up warning message on the DIS screen!

Unfortunately it's required by law to be there each time you start the vehicle. It's the only way their able to cover their butt should you fail to follow the given instructions on the screen. It's 2nd nature to just hop in push the start button immediately followed by the very large enter button lol....sigh. Just think it could be some annoying voice reading it to you every morning then requiring you to verbally acknowledge that you understand what it said to you

I don't know if this applies to tech, but with premium/nav if you have radio or usb playing when you turn off the ignition the system will display that instead of the nav nag screen the next time you start the car (if you then switch to nav you will then get the nag screen). But why would you need nav for your routine daily driving? I hardly ever use nav , so I hardly ever see the nag screen.:D

Yours may operate like that, but not mine. If I shut the ignition off, while I have the radio (AM/FM/XM) screen, or any other screen, I always get the nag screen with all the warnings on start up. I would love to have the screen that says "Genesis" stay on, but that only stays on for a second or two, before the nag screen comes on. I often just use the Info Screen, when I don't want to use any of the radio screens or the Navi screen.

In the Genesis with the Tech Package and non-touch 8 inch screen it always goes back to the same message each time you restart the car. No way around it that I know of.

Do you have any evidence that it is required by law? Maybe you mean that Hyundai lawyers (and all other GPS makers) want to avoid any lawsuits and that is why it is displayed.

Not 100% sure no; but on my TomTom it says as required by law each time the device starts up...so I think might be. You may also be correct about it being some sort of a blanket statement to protect themseves in the event a lawsuit is filed.

Well now I don't feel bad about recently getting a 2010 and missing out on possible changes for now.

Yesterday my dealership in Winter Park, FL. received their shipment of 2011 Genesis Sedans. Good news is their out....bad news is that no changes at all have been made from 2010 to 2011 line-up. Here are the Window Stickers and a few pictures of the cars. It was already 100 degrees outside when I was taking these pictures I will add more soon. Please feel free to move this post to whatever section is appropriate...thanks and enjoy

Yes it stinks that all the rumors of what was to come is not true, but I do have some insider information that the pictures of the center dash etc... that have been floating around the web are actually the of the new Hyundai Equus for the American Market. I'm not sure if that is true or not but the customer relations manager of the dealership was nice enough to let me go look at the new cars even though they are not yet available for purchase so I doubt she would have any reason to give me false information. I really was hoping that the pictures that had been going around were of the 2011 Genesis but this proves that nothing has changed for the upcoming year, unless it is some sort of underpinning/suspension or other minor tweaks to the cars performance.

Maybe some nice changes will happen in 2012...we will just have to sit back and wait at this point.

Why would any current owner want cosmetic changes to the vehicle? This will only accelerate depreciation. Be happy that the Genesis engineers did a great initial design that does not need appearance changes

Agree! - The only reason that I am waiting for a 2011, is that most of the known issues should be corrected on the 2011s. Audio problems, Steering wheel problems etc. etc.

I try not to buy cars in the first or second year of a major redesign. By then most of the 'bugs' are fixed.

I thought they we adding an 8 speed Auto to the 4.6 this year.

No 8 Speed, even in the Equus for 2011 it shows a 6 speed...unless some change happens vs. the specifications now posted for it on the Korean Hyundai website. In 2012 the 1st refresh for the Genesis is suppose to take place according to some articles out on the web...we will have to wait and see. So far I'm very happy with my Genesis, minus the few things taken away from the US market like the Air Suspension with CDC.
