  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

i know its only early and 2010 is just about to start, but since the genesis' have had early release dates with the 09 and 10 genesis, does anybody know when the 2011 genesis will be released? and what year is there gonna be a new face lift for them?

How would anyone other than an employee of Hyundai of America know this? Even then, most Hyundai employees still would not have this information.I'm sure that Hyundai is not going to tell anyone, seeing as how the 2010 just came out.

well i figured its usually about 11-13 months after , and im not even sure when the 2010 was released, so basically a better put question is, when was the 2010 released, and any estimate for a 2011?

as for the facelift part, what year was the first genesis put out? 2007? 2008? im new to hyundai so i was just wondering if it was every 4 years, or maybe 5 that they will get a new facelift.

dont need EXACT answers, just looking for estimates and peoples thoughts/opinion..

It's the second model year of the Genesis sedan and the first year of the Genesis coupe in North America. There's unlikely to be a facelift until the 2012 model year, give or take.

There's really no way of knowing. The 2009 sedan started sales in August 2008 and the second year came out more than a year later. The 2010 model year coupe came out in Feb. 2009, so chances are that the 2011 will come out sometime in the first half of 2010, but it could technically be anytime after that.

Hyundai isn't known for telegraphing their launches. For example, the all-new 2010 Sonata was pretty much an unknown until it was announced at this month's LA Auto Show with availability next month.

that pretty much clears it up, thanks alot for the help!

The Genesis Coupe will be "refreshed" for the 2012 model year. No idea when the 2011MY will hit the ground yet.

The genesis coupe 3.8 was released the last week of feb. 2009. The 2.0 was released 2 months later in april.
The genesis coupe is not scheduled to release a 2011 model till fall of 2010.
I guess hyundai unofficially made 2010 and 2010.5 models when they introduced the nav in the fall of 2010. Which means the genesis coupe run is going to be somewhere around an 18-20 month event before going into the next model year..

My only guess for such a long model year run is, since they built 35,000 units for the world n 20,000 hit our shores. Maybe, they want to study how they sold, get customer criticism and learn how much to realistically build for a 11-13 month model year??? That's just my guess...
