  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

2011 Genesis Sedan on sale at three dealers

Anyways, don't try to justify for what you have bought. You want everyone else to buy V6 version because that is what you own... nice try. Nope that won't work.
I don't care what you purchase. I would choose the V6 over again a thousand times. It is lighter with more nimble handling, and I can't even use all the power of the V6, so why would I get a V8.

Also, my important body parts are sufficiently large so that I don't have to compensate by getting a larger engine.

Just did a search online looking to see if the new Genesis was out yet and found this thread. I am going to be buying a Genesis in the next month (assuming I can get my hands on a 2011). Can't wait and glad to have found this forum. Will be contacting my Phoenix area dealers this weekend - they can call me when the have a 2011 for me to look at :-)

I'm with you, Mark. My 3.8 has all the power I'll ever need, and it feels lighter on its feet than the 4.6. I drove both and liked the 3.8 better. Like you, I don't care what others buy - the only person I need to satisfy is myself.

I have been eyeing this car and reading the forum for a while now, waiting for the 2011. Saw one listed online today and decided to make a trip out to the dealer. The 2011 infact is out but doesn't seem to have many of the enhancements that are posted on the internet. Really surprised Hyundai has nothing on the website about it. The Technology package is now standard on the 4.5. The gearshift and rear bumpers don't look anything like the 2011 spy shots.

Here are some links to the pictures I took:

Hello Crofton - I'm in Piney Orchard. Bought my 3.8 at Ourisman in Laurel. I haven't dealt with Pohanka, but I'm extremely pleased with Ourisman's sales and especially service. I've been going there for years and they always treat me fairly. They provide a loaner if you need one (but they don't have an espresso bar, free biscotti, or marble floors).

Where did Hyundai post a list of 2011 enhancements on the Internet that they did not deliver on?

Maybe you should re-read my post. I didn't say Hyundai posted anything and didn't deliver on it. I was alluding to the numerous pictures out on the web that show different styled rear bumper and BMW style gear shift.

I read it, but it would be foolish to blindly believe rumors on the Internet and it would never occur to me that a rational person would rely on those sources. The people who publish that stuff usually do it for a living, so if they don't have any legitimate sources they they will make wild guesses or make up the information (otherwise they will not get a paycheck).

Some of the pictures on the Internet are from the pre-2009 Genesis prototypes that never made it into production (this has already happened), and some may be photos of a future model year Genesis of unknown production date (subject to future revisions). Others may be of photos that are not even the Genesis.

With regard to the 2011 model, the CEO of HMA has previously been quoted by someone on this forum as saying that you probably should not believe rumors you see on the Internet regarding the Genesis.

I checked the Hyundai site today and nothing about the 2011 on the main Genesis page but when I checked for special offers I see special financing for the 2011 and the $1500 competitive rebate for the 2010 which was previously unavailable in my area. I would like to see if there were any internal improvements that make it worth spending $1500 more for the 2011.

These are all rumors and spy photos. The car just came out as a 2009. I wouldn't expect any kind of restyle (even minor) until 2012. Also, there is no way the Genesis would get a 5.0/8-speed before the Equus. The spy shots were probably for the 2012.

scb's link to the the dealer in Dallas above has pics. V6 premium wheels are not so good looking. The V8 tech wheels are different, but pics are not real clear on those.

So far (up until 2010 model anyway), the best looking wheels by far have been on the base Genesis model.
Mark, I am so glad to know I am not alone. I embarrassed myself when I posted the stock base model wheels here when I got my 2009 Premium (not Premium Plus), and I thought these were custom wheels, as I never saw them in the brochure or my online searching. But I still love the look of those wheels!

I also like those wheels. Could you post a picture of them again. I was trying to find one. Thanks!

Go to the Hyundai website and then use the "build your own" option for the 3.8.

I just hit the local dealers in the Phoenix - Scottsdale area this weekend. Way more 2011's on the lots than 2010's. In fact the Scottsdale dealer (Discovery) had about 12 of the 2011's and only one 2010. I bought a pearl 3.8, just waiting for it to come in now. Stoked!

I just bought (yesterday) and drove home a 3.6 Genesis, champagne/cashmere interior and the premium package (02)with 54 miles. I negotiated (not including TT&L) a sale price of $32,646. It was basically done over the internet.

I brought my 2010 V-8 in today for some warranty work and requested a 2011 to compare. Driving it around, I can assure you that there have been no additional suspension upgrades done. In fact my car rode noticeably smoother. I suspect the main reason was due to the fact that I run 30psi and the tester had 33psi. In addition, my suspension is broken in. Cosmetically, there has been a change to the airdam below the grille. I don't really see it as better or worse, just different. Also, I noticed that the Navi screen has been updated and looks different tham mine. Other than that, no difference. Rear end is the same as 2010.

Me too. I've grown used to pressing the Auto button to pop up the outside temperature display, but I'd rather see it all the time.
