If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

I will start it off...

Sapphire Blue 4.6 w/ cashmiere interior w/ cargo tray + wheel locks

Didn't qualify for any rebates (competitive or loyalty).

Total not including TTL or trade-in out the door was 40,599. Maybe overpaid a little, but got a nice deal on my trade and the exact color combo I wanted so pulled the trigger.

Should be in this beauty in about a week... thanks to this community and website. You made my decision easy.

Good to hear you're joining the Genesis family!

Damn though. It seems like I bought my 2009 not that long ago!!!!!

I thought out the door meant the grand total including everything, i.e. tax, dealer fees, tag etc--the whole enchilada. So can you tell us what the gross total bottom line price was?

2011 V8 with Tech with an MSRP of approximately $43,800 has markup of about $6200, including the VOC money. I outlined this in a little more detail in the "2010 Price Paid" thread.

Thus, a dealer could sell for about $37,600, but given that supply is limited and Hyundai is having distribution problems in South Korea, I'd be surprised if a dealer sold a 2011 for that. We sell for a little over $39k in Texas, but some parts of the US may not have the $1500 VOC available. Few dealers are willing to make less than $1500 on a $40k car, unless it's a demo with miles.

If someone has bought one for $37,500 or less, I'd love to hear where.

Where I live, you pay state sales tax (7%) and license/title fees (couple hundred bucks) within a month of buying the car. This is called vehicle registration. The price I paid out the door didn't include this... but it did include the destination fees, dealer fees, etc. Basically, it is the total cost a Hyundai dealer will sell you a car for. This is the price that should be quoted in my opinion since some states don't have sales tax or some states make you pay the state sales tax up front, etc. Also, I have seen some price quotes on earlier threads that had their trade-in included... these numbers are worthless. Most people reading these "price paid" posts are trying to get an idea of what the current "real cost" is for a Genesis so they can use their knowledge gained in negotiations with their dealer.

The last piece of the "out the door price" pie that should be mentioned are rebates. I didn't qualify for any rebates in my state, but there are a couple $1500 rebates out there for some. These rebates are offered directly from Hyundai but I don't know for sure if they go to the dealer or the person that buys the car... either way, they will affect your "out the door price." One is called a competitive owner's rebate (you must own a specific manufacture/model of vehicle to qualify--possibly varying by state--check with your dealer) and one is a loyalty rebate (you have a Hyundai already registered in your name). Both right now are $1,500 but from what I understand they can't be combined. If you qualify for one of these rebates, you should be able to get a deal $1,500 lower than the price I paid.

$36358 for the 2011 Genesis V6, Titanium Gray w/black, fully optioned. That includes military discount.

Wooohooo!!! Finally pulled the trigger!!!:D:D:D
2011 V6 premium+nav pkg
White satin pearl in saddle, the color I liked the best.
$35K plus TTL
Includes cargo tray, wheel locks, ipod cable, dealer added features: badges(steering wheel, back, wheel caps), VTR, Nitro, & tint.
10yr/100,000mile ext. BtoB platinum coverage for additional $13/month 60 mo.
This was the best deal I could find in my area. I'm tellling you all 2010 V6s are gone now as far as I can see here and this really made the deal difficult. But, I think I got a pretty good deal on this and this is a perfect car for me. I'll post some pics later.

Nice deal... You will love the car--I have only had mine for two days and can't believe the true value this car really is. FYI, I also opted for the BtoB 10yr/100,000 Platinum coverage on my 4.6 which cost me $1250 so you got a great deal on that.

Nice deal! Was this with $1500 rebate?

2011 Genesis V6 with Premium Navigation Package
Sterling Blue with Cashmere Interior.
$33,000 + Tax (NYS so 8.625%) + Title/Fees ($175) = $36,000 total out the door. Pre-Tax and title/fees MSRP was $38,300, so about $5,300 below the MSRP.
Seemed like a good deal- the color is fantastic.
Purchased in Atlantic Hyundai- Long Island, NY. Good experience overall.

The purchase price exclusive of sales tax and registration fees is really the only relevant number. In South Carolina the maximum sales tax is $300. In California or New York it could be as much as $4000 and in some states there is no sales tax at all. The big thing to remember, if you are happy with the price you negotiated, you do not feel that the dealer raped you and you trust that the dealer you purchased from will take care of your needs in the future, then you have made a good purchase regardless of what someone paid in another place. The car is such a fantastic value compared to the competition, just drive it, enjoy it and don't worry that someone might have paid $100 less. At service time it could be an entirely different experience. The other thing, everyone here is worried about getting the last penny of discount and squeezing the dealer. Remember, what you paid will have a big bearing on what you get at trade in, so it will be disingenuous to complain that at trade in time the dealer won't give you what you think the car might be worth.

This is a ridiculous deal. I was only able to get -

$32750 on a v6 with prem package
$34500 on a v6 with prem nav

pricing based out of bay area, CA

going with the prem package one most likely cause of the immediate availability of the color (black w/ saddle).

It took me 3 months of comparison shopping, but I finally got a deal I couldn't refuse on a new 2011 V6 with Premium package and a great deal on my trade in. I got the new car for 30,294 (including military discount of $500) before taxes, delivery etc which brought it up to about $31k ish. I had to drive 2.5 hours but it was so worth it! I really liked the saddle interior but was worried about it getting hot down here in the South, so I got cashmere and LOVE the car!

Where was this? The dealers here were saying anything lower than a $32500 on that would mean they're losing money. And thats with the $1500 competitive owner rebate ($1500).

I'm including the $1,500 rebate for those who currently own a competitive model in my $33,000 number.

Either way, I feel a lot better about the deal i got... ;)

The $31K out the door deal was from a small dealer in western NC

Folks,
I received a quote for 2011 Hyundai Genesis with Tech and premium package for $37,958 + TTL. However, I live in Southern California and was wondering if this a good deal?

Johnny!!!
