  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Is anyone having problems with the air conditioning getting cold? I bought this car brand new and it seems the AC gets cool but not COLD! I took it to the dealer and they said it was cold;however this was early in the morning and not really hot outside. Any suggestions?

Have a 2011 3.8 Sedan, and the damn AC gets too cold!

Blue in the sun it has no insulation it takes for ever to cool the car down. Have to keep it in the garage or park it in the shade. Stays hot in the summer and cold in the winter, I guess in Korea the weather does not change much or they would have fixed this problem, also sound deadening is terrible too...

I don't know if they are the same two systems but I had, just this week, my sedan in the shop (for 4 days) for a few small issues one of them the AC was acting up. I noticed that when I took the system off Dual it got cold where before it didn't. The loaner car got a lot colder.

The issue was resolved by the tech educating me on how to use my AC. He said to leave off the AQS when driving around town when the car was hot. The AC uses the cabin recirculate to cool the cabin down fast and the AQS overrides that slowing down the process. It also switches back and forth a LOT when first stating up.

I have no idea how that's going to work as I haven't driven it much yet but I felt when I turned off Dual it got a lot colder.

When I bought my brand new 2010 3.8 GT, the AC was not working. I took it back and it was empty. They refilled with dye to check for leaks. Follow-up oil changes I asked and they claimed to see no leaks. Today I am picking it up at the dealer repair shop after having the evaporator replaced. Major repair and they did not detect the leak coming out of the drain? My thoughts? They knew where the leak was and hoped the car resold before it emptied out again. This repair is on their dime but warranty ends before it empties again. Not keeping it.

My advice. Take it to the dealer if it is empty off the assembly line and request they take it back and replace with a new car. Do it it before you add major miles. Just my opinion.

I had tons of no start issues with the first coupe we have. Had to get it towed in twice with a "could not duplicate" response. Also had leaking o-ring and low refrigerant. I've had the no start on my car once now where it would crank and crank with no ignition. This is without any tuning devices installed since it's removed due to my clutch/transmission issues. Not exactly as problem free as my wifes 2006 sonata was. That thing was in the shop for a visor that wouldn't stay up and that was it for ~70K miles....They can't void the AC warranty if you have an exhaust, that makes 0 sense. Just take it in.

I have had better cooling, faster cool-down, and less erratic fan speeds by not using AQS and dual mode in my R-Spec.
